Overview of the role
The Director of Data Strategy spearheads the development and implementation of data intelligence initiatives, fostering data-driven decision-making across the organization. It is a pivotal role that bridges the gap between clients and agency teams, addressing complex strategic and omnichannel marketing challenges through innovative use of data.
Key Responsibilities:
Strategic Data Leadership
- Craft and execute comprehensive data strategies aligned with client objectives
- Apply creative problem-solving to devise effective data-driven strategies
Innovation and Thought Leadership
- Champion data planning and analytics across client portfolios and Havas network
- Stay ahead of industry trends and technological advancements
Project Diversity
- Oversee a wide range of initiatives, from targeted campaign analytics to holistic omnichannel customer experience design
- Align all projects with client business goals and industry best practices
Cross-functional Collaboration
- Cultivate trusted partnerships among analysts, strategists, client services, and operational teams
- Coordinate with diverse client stakeholders and external agency partners
Business Acumen
- Identify and address client challenges through data-inspired solutions
- Develop compelling project proposals leveraging cross-functional expertise
Day-to-Day:
Data Solutions Development:
- Develop and present data-driven marketing strategies
- Align client business goals with actionable analytics plans
- Create and present customer journey frameworks
- Design and implement reporting and analysis processes
Performance Measurement and Optimization:
- Establish frameworks for measuring marketing effectiveness
- Define KPIs, benchmarks, and targets
- Implement best-practice testing methodologies
Campaign Management and Project Coordination
- Develop targeting plans and briefs for various stakeholders
- Optimize marketing activities based on data insights
- Work with project management to allocate resources effectively
- Manage timelines for data-related initiatives
Client Advisory
- Serve as a trusted data expert for clients
- Stay updated on privacy laws related to data-driven marketing
- Keep abreast of emerging trends in data analytics and marketing technology

Experience
- Proven Track Record: 7-10 years of data strategy expertise across agency, client-side, and/or consultancy environments
- Industry Proficiency: Demonstrated experience in data strategy and analytics for: Customer experience programs, Digital marketing initiatives, CRM and / or media
- Communication Excellence:
- Ability to translate complex data concepts for non-technical audiences
- Strong data visualization and storytelling skills
- Exceptional presentation development abilities
- Digital Acumen: In-depth understanding of the digital landscape and data-driven value creation for clients and consumers
- Strategic Planning: Expertise in end-to-end, multi-channel customer journey and campaign planning
- Collaborative Leadership:
- Proven ability to navigate challenging situations through effective collaboration
- Skill in building consensus across diverse teams
- Project Management:
- Demonstrated capacity to manage multiple projects simultaneously
- Meticulous attention to detail
- Strong time management and organizational skills
- Cross-Functional Experience: Success in projects spanning multiple disciplines
- Educational Background: Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution
- Desirable Qualifications: Pharmaceutical industry experience (beneficial but not mandatory)
