RESPONSIBILITIES:
Initiate and provide strategic /tactical direction and planning input on all information technology and client /business area issues and in the development of a technical environment which meets current and anticipated business requirements and objectives.
Participate in the development of technology products, service standards and development efforts that impact the client /business area.
Serve as a single point of contact and the escalation point between the client /business area and internal management for the resolution of unresolved problems, complaints and complex service requests.
Provide the client areas with technology products and service alternatives that improve the support delivery process.
Utilize Unix /Linux, Database (Sybase /SQL /Oracle), Perl, Shell scripting, Infrastructure, and ITIL process to troubleshoot and fix production issues.
Set up monitoring and alerts in ITRS, Splunk or other equivalent Event Management systems to proactively detect potential issues that might disrupt the operations of the lines of business supported.
Maintain production stability by using ITIL processes such as Incident, change, release and service management practices.
Design and develop automation tools /scripts using Perl, Shell, Java or Python scripting to provide reports /data for internal and external clients supported.
Define, record and execute application disaster recovery /Business Continuity plans (BCP) procedures and participate annual DR exercises.
Perform Capacity /Demand Planning forecast by analyzing current application growth trends.
Remote work may be permitted within a commutable distance from the worksite.
REQUIRED SKILLS & EXPERIENCE:
Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Engineering (any), Computer Information Systems, Management Information Systems or related; and
5 years of progressively responsible experience in the job offered or a related IT occupation.
Must include 5 years of experience in each of the following:
