Job Description:

The technical strategy group is responsible for generating financial market research, forecast and trade ideas through the application of generally accepted technical analysis principles and theories on global equity, fixed income, currency and commodity markets. The platform is fast growing, and offers the rare opportunity to be entrepreneurial within the context of sell-side technical and quantitative research.

The role requires a mix of traditional research skills such as analytical thinking, attention to detail, ability to multitask and thrive in a fast-paced environment, along with an entrepreneurial mindset of being a self-starter, strong communicator and thinking creatively. Excellent communication, written and presentation skills are a must, as the role requires both internal and external client dialog. The candidate should also be comfortable with a variety of skills such as developing and managing spreadsheets, coding and handling of data.

Tasks:

  • Create, edit and update technical analysis charts and reports
  • Experience with Bloomberg, Excel and VBA/other coding languages.
  • Survey charts and develop trade ideas / high conviction views based on technical theories and signals.
  • Regularly interact with internal and external clients to articulate the team’s views and respond to client and sales/trading requests.
  • Independently follow market news, technical levels, filter relevant price moves, develop analysis and write impactful reports delivering a clear message.
  • Help the senior analyst in publishing daily, weekly and monthly technical research reports on global financial markets as well as larger thematic quantitative and educational pieces.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in a discipline such as Finance, Computer Science, Engineering, Statistics or equivalent years of experience.
  • 1-3 years experience in financial markets
  • In depth knowledge of technical analysis such as level 1, 2 and or 3 of the Chartered Market Technician designation passed.
  • Knowledge of using Bloomberg, Excel and VBA.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Native proficiency in spoken and written English.
  • Strong work ethic, attention to detail, and exercising strong quality control over their own work.
  • Self-starter with a demonstrated ability to take ownership of tasks.
  • Thrive in a fast paced environment while handling multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Prior experience in financial markets and/or developing models in Python, Matlab or equivalent languages is a big plus.
