Job Description & Program Overview

The Global Markets Chief Operating Office (COO) plays a key role in supporting multiple product teams in equities, fixed income, currencies and commodities. It also facilitates critical business functions within Global Markets, such as business controls, data management, business governance and regulatory enablement.

The teams leverage their diverse expertise to collaborate and understand the unique complexities of each group, ensuring seamless, efficient operations that align with Global Markets’ strategic objectives.

As a summer analyst in the Global Markets COO group, you will be exposed to a broad range of responsibilities while learning the fundamentals of the role. Your development is a top priority, with comprehensive training at the start of the program, ongoing on-the-job support, educational speaker sessions, and dedicated mentorship throughout your experience. Key tasks and responsibilities may include but are not limited to:

  • Supporting multiple projects simultaneously, contributing both independently and as a team member
  • Assisting the team in the improvement of operational efficiency and implementing best practices for front line business activities
  • Conducting various analyses to help streamline processes - such as operational loss reviews, reporting gaps, and audit issue summaries
  • Communicating and collaborating effectively with team members and stakeholders across different product groups and functional teams
  • Learning to navigate and understand the unique challenges, risk factors, and regulatory requirements for the teams you support as part of your ongoing development
  • Preparing and updating documentation, reports, and presentations as directed by your manager
  • Participating in meetings, training sessions, and product-specific workshops to build your understanding of the Global Markets environment

By taking on these responsibilities, summer analysts gain valuable exposure to the dynamic world of Global Markets and begin to develop the skills necessary to be successful in a COO role supporting diverse teams.

Qualifications

  • Students must be pursuing a Bachelor’s degree or a Bachelor’s direct to Master’s degree from an accredited college or university with a graduation timeframe between November 2027 and August 2028
  • Must demonstrate a track record of superior performance in extracurricular and professional activities
  • 3.2 minimum GPA preferred
  • Must have a combination of strong quantitative/analytical skills and attention to detail
  • Must have advanced Excel and PowerPoint skills; be familiar with Copilot
  • Strategic and creative thinking; distinguished written and oral communications skills
  • Assertiveness, initiative, leadership, strong work ethic, team focus
  • Ability to learn quickly and take on new responsibilities
