About the Role:
We are seeking a visionary and strategic leader to join our team as the Director of Data Products & Engineering . This executive role is responsible for defining and executing the strategy for the enterprise's data products and services. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in both data engineering and product management, with a proven track record of building and leading high-performing teams, driving data innovation, and delivering data solutions that create business value. You will be responsible for managing the entire data lifecycle, from architecture and engineering to operations and governance, through collaboration with various teams and vendors, with goal of ensuring our data assets are scalable, secure, and aligned with our strategic goals.
This role is eligible for our Flex Persona for candidates local to our Boston, MA office.
Your Day to Day:
- Develop and execute a unified and forward-looking vision for data products and engineering that aligns with our company's strategic priorities.
- Lead the creation of a scalable, cloud-native data products that supports real-time data processing for enterprise applications, analytics, machine learning, AI, and self-service data consumption.
- Develop and champion a comprehensive, forward-looking enterprise data strategy that is tightly aligned with the company’s overarching business goals.
- Foster a data-driven culture across the organization by championing data-as-a-product thinking and enabling stakeholders to make informed, evidence-based decisions.
- Build, mentor, and lead a world-class team of data product managers and engineers, promoting a culture of innovation, collaboration, and operational excellence.
- Be a key stakeholder in establishing a robust data governance framework to ensure data quality, security, privacy, and compliance with all relevant regulations.
We’re Looking For:
Product & Strategy Leadership
- Define and manage the product & technical roadmap for all data assets, integrations, and services, from conception to launch.
- Collaborate with executive leadership and cross-functional teams to identify high-impact business problems that can be solved with data solutions.
- Translate business needs into clear data usage, dependencies, and outcomes focused on delivering value.
- Define and analyze metrics that measure the success, adoption, and business impact of our data products.
- Is a strategic technology leader responsible for owning a portfolio of applications and technology platforms, delivering end to business solutions to execute key strategic priorities for the enterprise
Data Engineering & Ops
- Lead global teams in the design, implementation, and maintenance of robust and scalable data pipelines for data ingestion, transformation, and storage.
- Manage end to delivery of data assets with DevSecOps, Quality Engineering, Release management, and change management processes.
- Partner with enterprise and solution architecture teams for evaluating and deploying emerging technology stack with data, analytics, and AI to keep the organization at the cutting edge..
- Ensure the highest standards of data quality, accuracy, reliability, and observability across all data systems.
- Fully accountable for creating a culture of engineering excellence, innovation and managing the growth and development of the engineers within the organization
Leadership & Team Management
- Recruit, develop, and retain top talent multi-level teams of associates and contractors in data engineering and product management.
- Provide mentorship, guidance, and career development for the team, fostering an inclusive and high-performance environment.
- Manage team resources, project priorities, and operational budgets to ensure the timely delivery of key initiatives.
- Managing software and services vendors for delivering enterprise wide data & analytics capabilities.
What You Bring:
- 12+ years of experience in data engineering, data architecture, or a related field, with at least 5+ years in a senior leadership role.
- Experience building data & integration solutions such as EDW, Operational Data Stores, NOSQL Databases, ETL & ELT and caching
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Systems, engineering, or related field.
- Proven success in leading and scaling data teams in a complex, multi-product organization.
- Strong expertise in modern data stack technologies (e.g., Snowflake, Databricks, Kafka, dbt, Airflow) and cloud-native platforms (AWS, GCP, Azure).
- Proficiency in programming languages such as SQL and Python.
- Demonstrated experience in applying product management principles to data, including roadmap development, requirements definition, and stakeholder management.
- Exceptional leadership, communication, and executive influencing skills, with the ability to clearly articulate complex technical concepts to non-technical audiences.

Full time Salary Range: $215,460.00 - $263,340.00The job posting range is the lowest to highest salary we in good faith believe we would pay for this role at the time of this posting. We may ultimately pay more or less than the posted range, and the range may be modified in the future. An employee’s pay position within the salary range will be based on several factors including, but limited to, relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, performance, shift, travel requirements, sales or revenue-based metrics, and business or organizational needs and affordability.
This job is also eligible for variable pay.
