Position Summary:

As a Advanced Analytics Analyst II working in the Analytics Hub within the finance department, you will serve as an analytics lead for our business units and partner closely with our technical teams to deliver effective data analytic solutions. Your work will go beyond the traditional analyst role; you will be deeply involved in understanding complex data structures and building the analytic data repositories that guide our corporate strategy and improve performance. This role is ideal for a highly skilled analyst who thrives on applying critical thinking to untangle complex data challenges. You will serve as a trusted advisor to key business stakeholders, leveraging your expertise to solve meaningful problems and turn data into actionable insights.

What You’ll Do:

In this role, you will deliver high-impact business analytics that transform complex data into actionable requirements and insights. Partner with technical teams to support and evolve the Blue Cross Blue Shield Association’s National Data Warehouse (NDW) in alignment with business priorities. You will play a critical role in strengthening cloud-based enterprise data assets by maintaining and advancing data repositories, assessing new data opportunities, and shaping the requirements for future analytic capabilities. Working collaboratively with stakeholders, you will lead enhancements to analytic reporting data assets, promote data accuracy, and guide users in leveraging data assets and insights effectively. Additionally, you will translate findings from data mining, UAT results, and quality assurance checks into clear, actionable recommendations that inform decisions and drive meaningful outcomes.

What You Bring:

Experience: A minimum of 3+ years professional experience; working with healthcare data (e.g., medical claims, pharmacy claims, eligibility) is highly desirable.

Education: Bachelor’s degree required, focus in quantitative field like Statistics, Mathematics, Computer Science, Healthcare or related field discipline strongly preferred.

Technical Proficiency: Proficiency in SQL required. A minimum of 3 years experience in data analysis/extraction/manipulation using tools like SAS, SQL, R, Python, etc. strongly preferred. Experience working with large-scale relational databases, especially experience with Snowflake, is highly desirable.

Analytic & Collaborative Mindset:

A self-directed and strong critical thinker who can independently solve complex data challenges.

A team player with the ability to collaborate with a variety of business partners, including clinical and technical staff, towards shared goals.

Excellent communication skills (written and verbal), with the ability to clearly explain complex technical concepts and results to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

The job posting range is the lowest to highest salary we in good faith believe we would pay for this role at the time of this posting. We may ultimately pay more or less than the posted range, and the range may be modified in the future. An employee’s pay position within the salary range will be based on several factors including, but limited to, relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, performance, shift, travel requirements, sales or revenue-based metrics, and business or organizational needs and affordability.

This job is also eligible for variable pay.
