Job Description:
The Senior Coordinator, Brand Marketing is a key contributor to Boston Globe Media's presence in the Greater Boston community. This role supports and executes marketing efforts, community events, and key brand partnerships — connecting the Globe's journalism to the audiences who need it most.
Responsibilities:
Brand & Marketing
- Contribute to cross-functional marketing campaigns, including owning execution of curated weekly marketing emails and providing ongoing campaign support to the Director of Brand Marketing.
- Grow prospect database and newsletter subscribers through strategic media sponsorships and partnerships, supporting the execution of co-marketing campaigns that expand reach to qualified audiences.
- Serve as the owner of BGMP merchandise operations for events and activations — responsible for coordinating merchandise orders company-wide, ensuring brand standards, tracking budgets, managing vendor relationships, and maintaining inventory and forecasting needs.
- Partner with B-Side team to help lead and support growth of our Gen-Z brand and audience.
Events
- Support the development and lead execution of marketing strategies to promote community events through email campaigns, social media, local partnerships, and grassroots outreach, driving attendance and post-event subscription conversions.
- Build relationships with community stakeholders, venue partners, and local organizations to support identification of optimal locations and co-promotion opportunities that amplify event reach and attract diverse audiences.
- Manage event budgets, vendor contracts, and promotional materials while ensuring strong execution of concurrent events and activations.
- Track event performance metrics including attendance, audience demographics, and subscription attribution to measure impact and inform optimization of future community engagement strategies.
Community & Corporate Responsibility
- Coordinate communications for Globe Santa (Globe Foundation's in-house nonprofit), including supporting process improvements, and executing partnership activations, website updates, social media, and newsletter strategy in coordination with the President of Globe Foundation.
Qualifications:
- 3–5 years of experience in marketing (brand or performance), community engagement, or event support — ideally in media or publishing, but not required.
- Bachelor’s degree preferred.
- Comfortable in external-facing settings — from community events to partner meetings — and energized by building relationships across diverse audiences and organizations.
- Strong project management skills with the ability to juggle multiple campaigns and activations simultaneously.
- Experience managing budgets, vendor relationships, and promotional materials.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills; comfortable working cross-functionally with editorial, partnerships, and leadership teams.
- A willingness to adapt and be audience focused, with a curious mindset and a commitment to creating an inclusive work environment
The BGMP office is located in downtown Boston, near Faneuil Hall and Quincy Market, and is easily accessible by MBTA and commuter rail lines. This position is based in Boston, and candidates should be based in the area or willing to move.
The annual salary for this role is $55,000 - $65,000.
