Job Description:

The Senior Brand Marketing Manager, Campaigns leads integrated marketing campaigns that connect audiences to Boston Globe Media’s journalism, products, experiences, events, and strategic initiatives.

This role translates business priorities, audience opportunities, editorial initiatives, and organizational goals into impactful marketing programs that drive engagement, strengthen brand affinity, support audience growth, and communicate the value of Boston Globe Media. The ideal candidate is a strategic and innovative marketer who combines strong business acumen, creative thinking, digital marketing expertise, and disciplined execution to bring complex initiatives to market across multiple channels and stakeholder groups.

Responsibilities:

Campaign Strategy, Ideation & Execution

  • Lead the ideation, development, execution, and optimization of integrated marketing campaigns across paid, owned, earned, and partner channels.
  • Develop audience-centered messaging frameworks and marketing narratives that communicate the value of our journalism, products, subscriber benefits, experiences, and community impact.
  • Develop campaigns that drive audience engagement, brand affinity, product adoption, event participation, and business objectives across subscriber and non-subscriber audiences.
  • Manage end-to-end campaign execution, including planning, timelines, stakeholder coordination, implementation, and post-campaign analysis.
  • Develop paid media recommendations, audience targeting strategies, and channel approaches, in partnership with key stakeholders, that support campaign goals.

Partnerships, Events & Marketing Activation

  • Lead marketing strategy and activation for key partnerships tied to campaigns in collaboration with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Develop, partner, and execute against marketing-led events and support key editorial appearances.
  • Partner with Product, Consumer Revenue, Editorial, Platforms, Innovation, and external organizations to bring strategic initiatives to market through marketing.
  • Translate product enhancements, subscriber benefits, and organizational priorities into clear, audience-focused marketing campaigns.
  • Partner with the Brand Marketing Manager, Audience Engagement & Growth to incorporate newsletter growth, SMS growth, audience acquisition, and engagement opportunities into integrated marketing campaigns.

Owned Channels, Audience Communications & Optimization

  • Lead strategy and execution of owned marketing channels and internal promotional placements.
  • Ensure consistency of messaging, audience relevance, and alignment with brand standards across marketing touchpoints.
  • Use campaign performance data, audience insights, and market trends to identify opportunities for improvement.
  • Test and recommend new approaches, tools, technologies, and marketing tactics that improve campaign effectiveness and audience engagement.

Planning, Cross-Functional Leadership & Team Management

  • Drive clarity, accountability, timing, and alignment across marketing workstreams.
  • Coordinate across multiple stakeholders to ensure successful execution of concurrent campaigns and initiatives.
  • Evaluate marketing opportunities through the lens of audience impact, business goals, organizational priorities, and available resources.
  • Manage and develop the Senior Coordinator, Brand Marketing, providing coaching, prioritization, and direction across active initiatives.

Qualifications

  • 7–10+ years of experience in integrated marketing, campaign management, brand marketing, audience marketing, or related fields.
  • Proven experience developing and executing complex, cross-functional marketing campaigns.
  • Strong strategic thinking skills with the ability to translate ideas into impactful marketing programs.
  • Experience across brand initiatives, partnerships, events, audience engagement, and product marketing.
  • Strong business acumen and ability to connect marketing efforts to organizational goals and audience outcomes.
  • Strong digital marketing expertise, including experience with paid media strategy, audience targeting, channel planning, and campaign optimization.
  • Strong data literacy and ability to use audience insights and performance metrics to inform decisions.
  • Excellent project management, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to balance creativity, innovation, and execution in a fast-paced environment.

Location information - Boston-based

The annual salary for this role is $75,000-$90,000.

The BGMP office is located in downtown Boston, near Faneuil Hall and Quincy Market, and is easily accessible by MBTA and commuter rail lines. This position is based in Boston, and candidates should be based in the area or willing to move.
