Job Description

Citizens is seeking an experienced Investment Banking Analyst to support the Industrial Equipment & Distribution Coverage team in client development as well as originating and executing M&A and Capital Markets transactions. This position offers an excellent opportunity for you to join a rapidly growing investment banking platform in a group with tremendous momentum across both M&A and Capital Markets.

Primary responsibilities include

  • Assist in the origination and execution of transactions including M&A, strategic corporate finance, and capital raising transactions.
  • Generate ideas and analytical materials in support of new client meetings.
  • Perform financial modeling and valuation analyses on public and private companies: comparable company analysis, precedent transaction analysis, leveraged buy-out analysis, and discounted cash flow analysis.
  • Develop various presentations including descriptive memoranda, management presentations, lender presentations, board presentations, and other marketing documents.
  • Develop pitch materials for topics such as company positioning, M&A/Strategic alternatives, and financing alternatives.
  • Conduct comprehensive company and industry research.
  • Participate in accounting, business, and legal due diligence for M&A and Capital Markets transactions.
  • Working with senior bankers in M&A, Leveraged Finance, Equity Capital Markets, Sponsor Coverage and Corporate Banking groups.

Qualifications, Education, Certifications and/or Other Professional Credentials

  • 1-2 years of direct experience with proven client interaction and Investment Banking, M&A, Leveraged Finance or Capital Markets experience
  • Undergraduate degree with a strong academic record from a leading university. All concentrations considered given level of industry experience
  • MBA a strong plus, but not required given level of experience
  • Attendance in a formal investment or corporate banking training program preferred, but not required
  • Excellent command of Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint
  • Experience with related financial services software including S&P CapitalIQ, S&P Leveraged Commentary, Advantage Data, Bloomberg, Thomson One, Thomson Loan Pricing Connector, FactSet, etc.
  • FINRA Series 79 (or 7) and Series 63 and /or willingness to obtain licenses in a short timeframe

Hours & Work Schedule

  • Hours per Week: 40+
  • Work Schedule: Monday to Friday
