Citizens Bank is seeking Investment Banking Analysts to join the Capital Markets & Advisory (“CM&A”) team. Analysts work closely with the team’s junior and senior professionals preparing, analyzing, and executing investment banking related transactions, primarily within the U.S. middle market.

Analysts are assigned to active and prospective engagement teams across multiple industries within core areas of focus and have the opportunity to grow professionally in a fast-paced environment.

The Corporate Finance Charlotte team focuses on the origination of business in specific industry sectors and works closely with the Mergers & Acquisitions and Debt Capital Markets teams to execute business. Industry sectors include: Aerospace, Defense & Government Services; Communications; Business Services; Engineering, Construction & Industrial Services; Industrial Equipment & Distribution; Basic Materials; and Financial Services & Technology.

Responsibilities

Shared responsibilities across all CM&A functions include but are not limited to:

  • Financial Analysis: financial modeling, comparable company, and transaction analyses, leveraged buyout and other valuation analyses.
  • Preparing information memoranda and other transaction documents; draft key marketing and key transaction related documents.
  • Supporting team members in developing new business ideas, pitch strategies, or transaction structuring scenarios (inclusive of equity, debt and/or M&A) to help the firm’s corporate and financial sponsor clients achieve their strategic objectives.
  • Preparing pitch/business origination materials and other presentations: develop and assemble pitches and other presentations and be an integral part of the team in delivering these presentations.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Current students enrolled in an undergraduate bachelor’s program, graduating between Winter 2024 – Spring 2025 OR current students enrolled in a graduate program, graduating between Winter 2024 – Spring 2025
  • Minimum GPA of 3.2; Preferred cumulative GPA of 3.5
    • Please include your cumulative GPA on your resume.
  • Relevant work experience, leadership experience and coursework in Finance, Accounting or Economics is preferred but all majors will be considered.
  • Strong analytical skills and software skills: MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) proficiency is required.
  • Candidates must currently be a U.S. Resident to be eligible for this program.
    • Please note that U.S. Immigration sponsorship or work visa is not available for intern / full-time Analyst positions and candidates must have permanent authorization to work in the U.S.

Hours & Work Schedule

  • Hours per Week: 40+
  • Work Schedule: M-F
