Corporate Tax Analyst

Citizen’s Corporate Tax Group is looking for a tax professional to join the team. This is a corporate finance role that provides broad exposure to various facets of the business. As trusted business advisors, Corporate Tax is valued for playing a critical role in driving the company’s strategy by advising on new business initiatives and product development, as well as positioning the bank for future tax reporting changes.
The Tax Associate will report to the Indirect Tax Manager and assist with tax compliance, tax audits, tax process implementations and business line engagement and correspondence. The ideal candidate will be a strong, decisive, independent, and results-oriented individual.
Primary responsibilities include
Lead Sales & Use Tax Reviews: Oversee tax reviews for purchasing activities using advanced tools and independent research to ensure accuracy and compliance.
Partner Engagement: Monitor and respond promptly to inquiries from business line partners, providing clear guidance and solutions.
Audit Support: Assist the Indirect Tax Manager during audits by preparing thorough documentation and well-structured responses.
Account Reconciliation: Perform general ledger reconciliations for Property Taxes and Sales & Use Tax accounts with precision and attention to detail.
Process Improvement: Identify opportunities for tax process enhancements, develop solutions, and support implementation to optimize efficiency.
Tax Authority Correspondence: Address and resolve notices from tax authorities in a timely and professional manner.
Required Skills/Experience:
Accounting, Finance or similar experience
Bachelor’s degree
Microsoft Suite Proficiency – Excel, Outlook, Teams, Copilot
Strong analytical and tax technical skills with great attention to detail
Highly motivated, hard-working, and able to work independently while managing multiple tasks
Preferred Skills/Experience:
Strong team player with “can do” attitude who leads by example
Effective interpersonal skills, including persuasive written and oral communication skills
Experience managing third party relationships, specifically outsourced work
Alteryx skills
Hours and Work Schedule:
Hours per week: 40
Work Schedule: 8:00am - 5:00pm. Monday - Friday
Position is based out of Johnston, RI and is onsite 4 days/week (once fully trained).
