Job Summary:

The Vice President, Airport Business Development is responsible for leading the Airports Division business development, airport relations, and airport acquisition activities to drive strategic portfolio objectives and revenue expansion. This role manages key airport partnerships and leads the pursuit, negotiation, and acquisition of new airport advertising concessions, contract renewals, and extensions. The VP, Airport Development serves as a senior representative of Clear Channel Outdoor – Airports Division, building and maintaining executive and management-level relationships with airport leadership, governing entities, consultants, and industry stakeholders. The position manages assigned Airport Development Directors and Managers and leads cross-functional teams responsible for developing media programs, investment recommendations, financial proposals, and sales and operational strategies for airport proposals. Working closely with leaders across the organization, the VP ensures opportunities are strategically aligned, competitively positioned, and successfully executed.

Job Responsibilities

  • Develops and executes business development strategies for assigned airport portfolios and target airports to drive growth, retention, and portfolio value.
  • Identifies, evaluates, prioritizes, and pursues new concession opportunities, contract renewals, extensions, and other strategic growth initiatives.
  • Builds and maintains executive- and management-level relationships with airport leadership, governing entities, consultants, industry stakeholders, and strategic partners.
  • Leads airport pursuits from opportunity identification through contract award, including responses to RFPs, RFQs, unsolicited proposals, and other procurement opportunities.
  • Negotiates concession agreements, renewals, extensions, and amendments that align with company objectives and investment criteria.
  • Leads cross-functional teams to develop media programs, investment recommendations, financial proposals, deployment strategies, and concession win strategies.
  • Monitors and communicates industry trends, competitive activity, risks, opportunities, and strategic recommendations to support division planning and decision-making.
  • Recruits, develops, and leads Airport Development Directors and Managers.
  • Promotes the company's capabilities, products, and industry leadership through participation in industry conferences, trade associations, airport meetings, and networking events.

Job Qualifications

Education

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Aviation Management, Marketing, Finance, Real Estate, Public Administration, or related field preferred, or equivalent combination of education, training, experience, or military experience.

Work Experience

  • 10+ years of progressive experience in business development, airport concessions, aviation, media, advertising, sponsorships, public-private partnerships, or related industries, including experience with airport governance, procurement processes, concession agreements, and contract negotiations.
  • 5+ years of experience leading a team, strategic initiatives, and cross-functional teams in a dynamic business environment.
  • Demonstrated success identifying, pursuing, negotiating, and securing large-scale business opportunities, leading complex RFP and public procurement processes, and building executive-level relationships; airport concessions, airport management, aviation, media, advertising, sponsorship, and airport advertising experience strongly preferred.

Physical Demands

  • Employee must have the ability to sit and/or stand at a desk for a minimum of eight (8) hours a day and complete tasks requiring repetitive use of hands.

  • Able to walk through airport terminals of varying sizes.

Other Requirements

  • Must possess a valid driver’s license and access to a reliable vehicle.
  • Ten (10) year FBI Background check required for airport security badging.

Able to travel outside of the office and overnight 40% of the time for airport visits, client meetings, corporate meetings, and industry events.
