CVS Health is looking for a Strategy and Development Director with a passion for building a best-in-class retail strategy along with building the relations, tools and governance structure that are essential to strategic success!

As the Strategy & Development Director you will be responsible for the development and execution of the PCW (Pharmacy Consumer Wellness) growth strategy in alignment with the broader enterprise. You will sit within the PCW Office of the President team, connecting the dots between cross-functional teams to bring one holistic vision to life. You will play an instrumental role, responsible for the implementation and ongoing management of multiple highly visible projects. You will own the development of essential processes to ensure cross-functional connectivity, establish accountability, and accomplish organizational goals.

Key responsibilities will include creation and oversight of a holistic PCW strategy in partnership with the Vice President, Senior Strategic Advisor. This includes quantitative and qualitative research and analysis to define white space opportunities, executive storytelling to help Senior Leaders understand and connect with the strategy, leading the team charged with the creation of timing and prioritization of pilots and chain rollouts of new initiatives, developing the communication and change management strategies, and regular collaboration with cross-functional enterprise to deliver excellence in rolling out new programs requiring support across multiple stakeholders.

Additionally, you will be responsible for contributing to routine working teams, Steer Cos, and initiatives that cross business units to find synergies in how we work and reduce friction for our store teams.

Required Qualifications

  • 10+ years’ experience leading cross-functional teams and initiatives with a high degree of complexity in a dynamic, fast-paced environment in retail, corporate, consulting, or other similar business models.
  • Proven experience developing strategies to mobilize the business to achieve goals and outcomes using innovative solutions.
  • Prior experience leveraging data to support strategic plans and return on investment.
  • Highly responsible and accountable for building strong business value.
  • Proven track record of the ability to work collaboratively with internal and external business partners to deliver ROI from effective targeting and communication strategies.
  • Proven organization and time management skills (able to track and manage issues, ensure the right teams are engaged, facilitate comprehensive and timely issue resolution, conduct root cause analysis, etc.)
  • Previous Experience supporting development of key strategic updates, presentations, and content for senior leadership meetings.
  • Expertise with MS Office and other business applications including MS Teams, PowerPoint, Excel, and SharePoint
  • Bachelor’s degree, or equivalent experience

Travel requirements – up to 20% travel expected, based on needs of the business.

Pay Range

The typical pay range for this role is:

$100,000.00 - $231,540.00


This pay range represents the base hourly rate or base annual full-time salary for all positions in the job grade within which this position falls. The actual base salary offer will depend on a variety of factors including experience, education, geography and other relevant factors. This position is eligible for a CVS Health bonus, commission or short-term incentive program in addition to the base pay range listed above. This position also includes an award target in the company’s equity award program.
