Position Summary
The Pharmacy Associate Planner – is responsible for supporting the day-to-day inventory management activities for brand and generics including but not limited to researching and addressing improvement opportunities, addressing special project activity (new DC opening, inventory optimization opportunities, Blue Yonder AR improvement opportunities, supply disruption analysis and customer availability planning, etc.) Due to the scope of analytics and impacts within the organization, this position will interact with several departments specifically, but not limited to, Finance, Logistics, RxTrade and Rx Operations. This role requires a strong understanding of inventory replenishment and forecasting along with a working knowledge of P&L analysis and merchandising processes. This is a key role in providing senior management with the information needed to make critical business decisions, identify inventory opportunities and offer recommendations to optimize inventory.

PRIMARY CAPABILITIES:

Ability to prioritize and maintain everyday tasks and special projects, in addition to independently solving problems involving late shipments and purchase order issues Ability to foster teamwork, innovation, cooperation, and personal development/satisfaction within the Inventory Management teams Strong working knowledge of Planning systems (Blue Yonder AR), Microsoft Word, Excel and Access, SQL with some knowledge of Snowflake, Thought Spot Ability to communicate clearly, effectively (verbal & written) with all levels of management within and outside the department Ability to make independent decisions and communicate suspected issues timely to senior management Strong capabilities around cross functional collaboration. Planner needs to have the ability to effectively coordinate multiple activities with vendor, CVS logistics, Vanguard production and merchandising. Ability to foster teamwork, innovation, cooperation, and personal development/satisfaction within the Inventory Management teams Ability to make process recommendations related to daily/weekly tasks and streamline opportunities.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Planning and Execution:

  • Perform the inventory management activities for pharmacy brand and generics to include, but not limited to, ordering, stock balancing, returns, transfers, identifying opportunities to better manage inventory investment, seasonality planning, forecast modeling, etc.
  • Develop and maintain a collaborative relationship with key suppliers. Participate in the vendor collaboration meetings with key suppliers where required.
  • Ordering of product into the 11 pharmacy DC’s Implement merchandise transfers and reallocations between warehouses where required.
  • Perform discrepancy processes as needed for key suppliers including creation of MCR’s Perform all required maintenance of the Purchase Order system. Work with Rx suppliers to ensure timely flow of pharmacy product through the supply chain.
  • Facilitate continuous improvement activities related to planning activities.
  • Ad hoc activities and analysis as required to support effective management of role and responsibilities.
  • Support ordering for select Rx replenishment suppliers.

Supply chain coordination:

  • Manage all product flow supporting Rx supplier material requirements including Backorder tracking, PO maintenance, Discrepancies, Transportation research and communication, DC collaboration.
  • Analysis and prioritization of purchase order receipts and provide notification to the distribution centers Where required, interact with cross-functional departments at both CVS and the Vendor Partner to collect input and feedback, ensure effective flow of information and product, and to assist to cross-functional solutions to issues and opportunities.
  • Maintain reporting related to product availability and constraints for providing to Rx Merchandising.
  • Create and provide user friendly and actionable reporting tools to analyze and easily identify inventory opportunities.
  • Coordinate activities with CVS Core Planning group. Communication of supplier issues that may impact in-stock, customer service.

Required:

3 to 5 years experience in supply chain and distribution

Preferred:

  • Experience in Supply chain industry preferred.
  • Effective oral and written communication skills, as well as presentation skills. Ability to communicate effectively with cross functionally.
  • Ability to extract, organize, analyze, and report data in a manner that is useful and relevant for making business decisions.
  • Analytical, meticulous, and detail oriented Proficiency in decision making and contingency planning.
  • Strong leadership skills Ability to manage complex projects across multiple business disciplines within the Enterprise..
  • Masters/MBA

    Pay Range

    The typical pay range for this role is:

    $46,988.00 - $112,200.00

    This pay range represents the base hourly rate or base annual full-time salary for all positions in the job grade within which this position falls. The actual base salary offer will depend on a variety of factors including experience, education, geography and other relevant factors. This position is eligible for a CVS Health bonus, commission or short-term incentive program in addition to the base pay range listed above.
