Position Summary

Senior Manager, Front Store Marketing

The Senior Manager, Front Store Marketing will be responsible for developing marketing plans, campaign briefs, and business cases using customer insights, business data, and competitive analysis. This includes partnering with a variety of stakeholders including merchandising, media, creative, analytics, marketing channel experts, and supplier partners. All plans will require the development of specific measurement goals to quantify the impact to the Front Store Health business.

Responsibilities:

Storytelling & Influencing

  • Effective Communication: Articulates ideas clearly and persuasively to influence partners and stakeholders; builds Collaborative Relationships. Manage and develop strong relationships with partners across the organization, particularly merchant partners across varying categories.

  • Narrative Development: Crafts compelling stories that resonate with target audiences and drive engagement.

  • Strategic Influence: Uses storytelling to shape perceptions and drive strategic initiatives.

  • Briefings: Brings ideas to life through clear, impactful presentations and briefings.

  • Lead cross-functional teams to ensure consistent communication and execution of strategy.

People Management

  • Relationship Building: Builds strong relationships/ leadership within the team and across the organization.

    • Lead and mentor team members to achieve results and enable professional growth.

    • Deliver thought leadership to broader Front Store team through sharing and collaboration.

    • Bring new ideas to partners across the enterprise that may benefit CVS Health overall.

  • Delegation: Delegates work appropriately to leverage team strengths.

  • Elevation: Elevates team contributions and identifies growth opportunities.

  • People & Self- Management: Manages and grows people, fostering a culture of development and excellence.

  • Identify the problem/opportunity: Clearly articulate the issue or opportunity you are addressing. Use specific and concise language to describe what needs to be solved.

  • Hypothesis Development: Develop a hypothesis to drive strategic decisions and actions.

  • Independent Recommendations: Synthesize inputs from data and insights to develop potential solutions and actions.

  • Thoughtful Action: Align the path forward with strategic objectives to drive impact.

Balancing Strategy and Execution

  • Strategic Vision: Develop 6–18-month strategies while maintaining focus on short-term execution.

  • Strategy Development: Establishes the foundation for achieving business goals and competitive advantage.

  • Recaps: Analyze wins and considerations for next actions with data.

  • Deliver Outcomes: Operate with personal accountability and resourcefulness. Take ownership of results, using resources effective, and adapting as needed to ensure desired outcomes are achieved.

Business Cases with Insights & Data

  • Data-Driven Decision Making: leverage customer insights, business data, and competitive analysis to identify opportunities to both drive and grow the Front Store business.

  • Lead Creation of Marketing Briefs: translate plans into a marketing brief that can be used to drive creative development and media planning.

    • Develop the necessary learning agendas and KPIs to determine the impact on the business and provide learnings for future campaign optimizations.

    • Evaluate creative work and media opportunities to ensure that they deliver against the stated strategic priorities within the brief.

    • Consider the entire omnichannel customer journey as we continue to complement our store sales with enhanced online experience and new fulfillment capabilities.

  • Analytical Skills: Proficient in using tools like Tableau, IRI, and third-party data sources to extract actionable insights.

  • Insight Integration: Integrates market research and data analysis into strategic planning

  • Proactively seek and scope new opportunities to drive incremental category sales through new customer targeting, increased investment, introducing new marketing channels, etc.

Balance Prioritization of Business Needs

  • Adjust to urgent business needs that require prioritization

  • Manage additional project requests from business partners that must be filtered and addressed through time management and organizational skills

  • Evaluate business requests and challenge stakeholders if requests do not appear to be clear business drivers

Required Qualifications

  • 5+ years of marketing experience with a strong foundation of business, retailer, and consumer understanding

  • 3+ years of cross-functional leadership experience

  • 2+ years of retail marketing or retail agency/strategy experience

  • 2+ years of digital marketing experience including examples of testing and validating emerging opportunities

  • Experience leading teams with more than 1 direct report

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience working in a highly matrixed organization

  • A customer-first mindset that drives decision-making within the in-store and online customer experience

  • Omni-channel marketing experience, particularly digital marketing, with a strong understanding of both paid and owned assets

  • Quantitative skills (data analysis, sales trends, forecasting, market sizing) that can be used to organize and interpret data in order to create actionable insights

  • Budget management experience, which includes both the ability to make informed decisions on how marketing dollars should be allocated as well as the responsibility of tracking and communicating that spend

  • Intellectual curiosity and a willingness to question the status quo in order to drive improvements and optimizations

  • Highly motivated, self-starter who can thrive in a demanding, performance-driven environment and make thoughtful decisions even when under tight deadlines

  • Ability to problem solve by identifying and removing barriers while maintaining a positive and collaborative attitude

  • Proven track record of working collaboratively with internal and external business partners to deliver business results

  • Effective oral and written communication skills that can be used to articulate plans and strategies to a variety of stakeholders, including senior leaders

  • Strong PC knowledge including Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint

Education

Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Business, or related field; MBA welcomed.

Pay Range

The typical pay range for this role is:

$82,940.00 - $182,549.00


This pay range represents the base hourly rate or base annual full-time salary for all positions in the job grade within which this position falls. The actual base salary offer will depend on a variety of factors including experience, education, geography and other relevant factors. This position is eligible for a CVS Health bonus, commission or short-term incentive program in addition to the base pay range listed above. This position also includes an award target in the company’s equity award program.
