Position Summary
We are seeking a detail-oriented and Cyber Incident Response Technical Writer to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for documenting real-time incident response activities by participating in technical discussions and bridge calls. You will collaborate with both technical and non-technical stakeholders to accurately capture key actions, decisions, and timelines during cybersecurity incidents. Preparation of investigation summaries and executive-level reports is also a key responsibility for this role.
Additionally, you will assist with editing and maintaining clear and concise documentation that supports our cybersecurity initiatives, including policies, and standard operating procedures. You will work closely with cybersecurity analysts and engineers, and cyber security leaders to translate complex technical concepts into user-friendly content that enables our teams.
Key Responsibilities:
- Document cyber incident response team activities during incident bridges and discussions in near real-time.
- Produce investigative reports and summaries suitable for executive level consumption.
- Develop and maintain cybersecurity documentation, including:
- Security policies and procedures
- Incident response reports and briefings
- Technical manuals leveraged by the cyber defense teams.
- Collaborate with subject matter experts (SMEs) to gather information and ensure accuracy and clarity of content.
- Maintain version control and documentation repositories.
- Edit and proofread content for grammar, clarity, and consistency.
- Perform quality and case review.
- Attend critical incidents which could lead to afterhours duties.
Required Qualifications:
- 5+ years of experience in cybersecurity, infrastructure technologies, incident response, technical writing, or other related disciplines.
- 3+ years of experience in technical writing within a technology context.
- 1+ year of experience focused on cybersecurity or related technologies
Preferred Qualifications:
- Strong understanding of cybersecurity principles, frameworks, and terminology.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Proficiency with documentation tools (e.g., Microsoft Office, Visio, Markdown, etc.).
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously with minimal supervision.
- IT and Cyber Security Certifications such as CompTIA A+, Network+ CE Security+ CE, CISSP, CISM, Certified Technical Writer (CTW), SANS/GIAC credentials
Education
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience (High School Diploma and 4 years relevant experience)

The typical pay range for this role is:
$101,970.00 - $203,940.00This pay range represents the base hourly rate or base annual full-time salary for all positions in the job grade within which this position falls. The actual base salary offer will depend on a variety of factors including experience, education, geography and other relevant factors. This position is eligible for a CVS Health bonus, commission or short-term incentive program in addition to the base pay range listed above.
