Position Summary:

The Executive Director, PBM Data Stewardship, Enablement & Strategy is responsible for data governance practices and data capabilities across the PBM. They will ensure the foundation and tools are available to effectively leverage data to conduct PBM Operations, support all aspects of reporting, and drive business outcomes.

This position requires an agile and collaborative leader, who will partner across the Digital, Data, Analytics, & Technology (DDAT) Team to guide strategic direction of data governance and ensure all technology is built in alignment with our data strategy, both within the PBM and aligned with the enterprise. This role also requires strong engagement and communication across all PBM business units to ensure that data is easily accessible, and the data needs of both our internal and external partners are being met. In addition, the individual must be able to independently interact with and influence a wide range of senior stakeholders and demonstrate a consistent track record of delivering results.

To be effective in the role, this leader needs to be a critical thinker and problem solver who is analytical and detail-oriented, highly accountable, and able to partner across boundaries to instill urgency and accountability, possess a strong business acumen, and able to manage cross-functional work.

Responsibilities include:

  • Data Accountability within the PBM.
  • Developing strategy for collection, management, and use of data across the PBM and being accountable for outlining what data can and cannot do.
  • Owning and Driving data quality initiatives, including data cleaning, enrichment, and normalization.
  • Developing and owning strategy for implementation of data governance practices and capabilities.
  • Partnering with both Technical and Business Application Owners to ensure application development is aligned with data strategy and governance.
  • Ensuring Use Cases are being supported across Data Domains.
  • Establishing and maintaining well documented data governance and prioritization processes.
  • Fully leveraging data to eliminate duplication and increase accuracy.
  • Supporting adoption and implementation of tools to support data querying, reporting, and analytics.
  • Provide thought leadership regarding Systems of Record, Sources of Truth, and how to re-envision end-to-end data journeys in the PBM
  • Supporting Capital Submissions/Budgets relative to PBM Data Strategy.


Required Qualifications

The candidate will have a strong work ethic, be a self-starter, and be able to be highly productive in a dynamic, collaborative environment. This position offers broad exposure to all aspects of the company’s business, as well as significant interaction with all the business leaders. The candidate will be expected to have the following key attributes:

  • Ability to work Hybrid Model (in office part-time during week) if residing near a HUB location.
  • 10+ years of experience in highly regulated, complex, data heavy environments
  • 10+ years of demonstrated organizational skills (e.g. product management experience or managing cross-team/department initiatives with demonstrated success)
  • 10+ years of leadership experience (direct report experience or equivalent experience without direct report)
  • 10+ years of progressive experience and leadership in business Data Stewardship and Governance
  • Experienced collaboration partnerships with IT/Data Organizations
  • Experience setting a vision and strategic definition for enterprise-grade data marts that serve multiple needs (e.g. data staging, downstream data consumption, reporting, etc.)


Preferred Qualifications

  • 10+ years healthcare data experience
  • Proven experience developing and executing business strategy
  • Knowledge of advanced delivery methodologies
  • Ability to integrate specific business objectives with enterprise solutions
  • Preference will be given to qualified candidates near listed hub locations.


Education

Bachelor's degree and/or an equivalent work experience

Pay Range

The typical pay range for this role is:

$131,500.00 - $303,195.00


This pay range represents the base hourly rate or base annual full-time salary for all positions in the job grade within which this position falls. The actual base salary offer will depend on a variety of factors including experience, education, geography and other relevant factors. This position is eligible for a CVS Health bonus, commission or short-term incentive program in addition to the base pay range listed above. This position also includes an award target in the company’s equity award program.
