Position Summary
The Senior Informatics Analyst leverages technology, advanced analytics, and healthcare domain expertise to improve outcomes across clinical, operational, and Medicare Advantage risk‑adjustment programs. The role encompasses designing and maintaining health information systems, conducting complex healthcare data analysis, and supporting decision‑making through data‑driven insights. This position applies deep understanding of healthcare informatics, risk adjustment methodologies, and data management to enhance accuracy, compliance, and performance within value‑based and risk‑bearing lines of business.
Advanced Analytics & Reporting
- Analyze and interpret complex clinical, claims, and risk‑adjustment datasets to support enterprise decision‑making and drive strategic initiatives.
- Perform advanced statistical analysis, data mining, and predictive modeling to produce actionable insights from large datasets.
- Identify trends, patterns, and correlations, including those related to Medicare Advantage risk‑adjusted performance, HCC prevalence, Chronic Condition recapture, and RAF scoring.
- Design and develop reports, dashboards, and visualizations using BI tools to communicate insights to stakeholders.
Data Management & Quality
- Ensure data integrity, quality, and consistency through effective data management strategies.
- Conduct encounter validation, coding quality checks, and analyses for risk‑adjustment completeness and data gaps.
Technical Development
- Analyze existing SAS scripts to understand business logic and convert or rewrite them into Python, R, or cloud‑native tools.
- Apply cloud‑based data engineering and analytics using platforms such as AWS or GCP.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum of 1 year of experience working with tools such as SAS, SQL, and scripting languages like Python or R, with a strong understanding of data manipulation and analysis techniques.
- Minimum of 1 year of experience working in a healthcare environment.
- Proven experience with cloud platforms such as AWS or GCP, including at least one year of hands-on experience deploying and managing data solutions.
- Working knowledge of problem solving and decision making skills
Preferred Qualifications
- Prior experience in healthcare analytics, risk adjustment, HEDIS, claims/EHR and other care management data.
- Experience with data visualization tools such as Tableau or Power BI, including the ability to create interactive dashboards and reports to effectively communicate insights.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel (formulas, pivot tables, lookups) and comfort analyzing large datasets and performing data‑driven modeling to support reconciliations and performance reporting.
Education
- Bachelor's degree preferred/specialized training/relevant professional qualification.

The typical pay range for this role is:
$46,988.00 - $112,200.00This pay range represents the base hourly rate or base annual full-time salary for all positions in the job grade within which this position falls. The actual base salary offer will depend on a variety of factors including experience, education, geography and other relevant factors. This position is eligible for a CVS Health bonus, commission or short-term incentive program in addition to the base pay range listed above.
