Position Summary

The Construction Senior Project Manager is responsible for planning, coordinating, and executing new store builds and remodel projects across the retail portfolio. This role oversees project budgets and schedules, manages construction documentation, secures permits, leads contractor bidding and negotiations, and ensures successful project delivery from initiation through closeout.

This position requires residency in New York, New Jersey or Pennsylvania.

Primary Duties & Responsibilities

  • Partner with internal Real Estate teams, Operations, external developers, and contractors to scope, budget, and document construction projects. Present project proposals at REC meetings.
  • Lead end‑to‑end construction management for new store builds and remodels, ensuring projects meet CVS Health design standards, quality expectations, timelines, and budget requirements.
  • Oversee approximately $50 million in annual capital and expense budgets, ensuring strong financial discipline and tracking.
  • Collaborate with cross‑functional internal and external partners to provide services that support project delivery.
  • Conduct regular site visits to verify construction progress, adherence to plans and specifications, and compliance with safety and quality standards.
  • Monitor project schedules and budgets, identifying and resolving issues proactively.
  • Represent CVS Health with city and state agencies throughout planning, permitting, and construction processes.
  • Manage punch lists and drive a timely and complete project closeout process, including documentation and turnover.

Required Qualifications

  • 7+ years of experience in all aspects of the design and construction process, including standards, permitting, and cost management.
  • Ability to travel primarily across the Northeast, with flexibility to support projects across the U.S. as needed.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Comprehensive knowledge of construction standards, design processes, and cost structures.
  • Strong project management experience with the ability to lead large cross‑functional teams.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage large, complex budgets.
  • Proactive, self‑directed work style with strong problem‑solving capabilities.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office tools (Project, Outlook, etc.) and project management software.
  • Strong presentation skills and the ability to communicate with internal leaders and external stakeholders.
  • Adaptability in a fast‑paced, evolving retail environment.

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Architecture, Engineering, or related field.

Pay Range

The typical pay range for this role is:

$75,400.00 - $182,549.00


This pay range represents the base hourly rate or base annual full-time salary for all positions in the job grade within which this position falls. The actual base salary offer will depend on a variety of factors including experience, education, geography and other relevant factors. This position is eligible for a CVS Health bonus, commission or short-term incentive program in addition to the base pay range listed above. This position also includes an award target in the company’s equity award program.
