Position Summary
The Senior SEO Copyeditor and Proofreader will work directly with the Editorial Manager, the Editorial team, Creative Managers, Delivery Managers, Account Services, Copywriters, Designers, Production Artists, Print Production, the Compliance team and other Marketing colleagues to ensure copy quality, editorial leadership and proofreading accuracy in a timely manner.

Responsibilities

  • Strengthens content in customer-facing and internal copy-heavy projects by copyediting digital and print materials for structure, content organization, reading level, accessibility and flow, especially long-form content (e.g., content marketing articles, clinical landing pages and landing page FAQs).
  • Compiles and organizes information from multiple stakeholders into one cohesive document.
  • Executes short creative copywriting assignments as needed.
  • Proofreads customer-facing and internal marketing materials for spelling, grammar, usage, punctuation, content, accessibility and typography, including direct mail, signage and other print campaigns; and digital, including landing pages, social posts, social media assets, emails, SMS and banners, as needed.
  • Partners with Designers to create and format image assets to be shared on social media.
  • Works closely with Compliance stakeholders to ensure all written content follows best standards and practices.
  • Leverages AI when required, e.g., using large language models (generative artificial intelligence) to edit and develop high-quality, SEO-optimized content that drives organic traffic and improves search engine rankings, and is open to using AI systems and workflows to reach solutions.
  • Becomes proficient in CVS Health® branding and corporate standards and ensures assets follow enterprise copy style guide and accessibility, branding and compliance requirements.
  • Helps maintain style guides.
  • Helps drive standards and style decisions. Contributes to discussions and helps inform content and direction of enterprise and other standards and styles.
  • Creates cross-functional partnerships with stakeholders in areas such as copywriting, compliance, accessibility and enterprise brand and with creative teams and agencies to acquire information, discuss, educate and reach resolution as needed.
  • Provides tactical support to Editorial Manager as needed.
  • Helps project manage and support the work for other team members from time to time; must be able to identify and resolve inefficiencies and capacity issues.



Required Qualifications

  • Three to five years' proofreading and editing experience required, preferably in an advertising and marketing environment.
  • Superb copyediting skills, including improving the structural quality, organization and readability of long-form copy.
  • Ability to generate and support impactful writing ideas and executions that deliver and adhere to the brand vision and brand standards while ensuring consistency.
  • Ability to understand a marketing brief and translate the input into ideas.
  • Highly accurate proofreading skills with an experienced eye for consistency and detail.
  • Experience using Writer AI, ChatGPT, Claude or a similar large language model.
  • Demonstrated ability to create and maintain strong relationships and influence and inform by communicating clearly, accurately, professionally and diplomatically, both verbally and in writing, at all levels.
  • Sound judgment and the ability to make good editing and wider-reaching style decisions independently and collaboratively.
  • Ability to excel in a fast-paced environment with tight deadlines and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Excellent organizational skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to maintain information in strictest confidence.
  • Must have experience with Word, Excel and Acrobat.
  • Strong team player with enthusiasm and a positive attitude who can also work independently.



Preferred Qualifications

  • Five to eight years’ related experience in an advertising and marketing environment.
  • Up-to-the-minute digital skills; ability to troubleshoot and optimize digital systems to meet department needs.
  • Native or near-native Spanish language skills.
  • Experience in Workfront workflow system (or equivalent).
  • Mac experience.
  • InDesign skills.


Education

  • Bachelor's degree in writing, English, communications, arts or other relevant major required.

Pay Range

The typical pay range for this role is:

$46,988.00 - $112,200.00

This pay range represents the base hourly rate or base annual full-time salary for all positions in the job grade within which this position falls. The actual base salary offer will depend on a variety of factors including experience, education, geography and other relevant factors. This position is eligible for a CVS Health bonus, commission or short-term incentive program in addition to the base pay range listed above.
