Position Summary
CVS Health is seeking a Senior Indirect Tax Analyst to join its Indirect Tax team. This is an opportunity for an experienced tax professional to play a meaningful role in supporting accurate tax determination, maintaining product taxability content, and helping the business respond effectively to evolving tax laws and regulations. The role requires strong analytical judgment, cross-functional collaboration, and the ability to work effectively in a large, complex organization.
Reporting to the Indirect Tax Research Manager, this position will focus on product taxability mapping and maintenance, tax research, and ongoing analysis of state and local tax law developments affecting the business. The ideal candidate is detail oriented, intellectually curious, and able to translate complex tax rules into practical guidance for internal stakeholders and customers.
Responsibilities
- Research, analyze, interpret, and document tax laws and regulations to support accurate tax determinations and product taxability mapping for goods and services
- Partner with the tax technology team to evaluate and implement content updates within transaction tax determination systems and help resolve issues in a timely manner
- Research and respond to client inquiries in partnership with Customer Support
- Analyze tax rates for products and services sold in the jurisdictions where the company operates
- Communicate the impact of sales and use tax law developments to internal stakeholders
- Monitor tax statutes, regulations, legislative activity, court decisions, compliance forms, geographic boundaries, and related publications to stay current on developments affecting the company
- Evaluate business activities to ensure indirect tax implications are appropriately considered
- Support special projects and other responsibilities as needed
Required Qualifications
- 3+ years of relevant experience in indirect tax or a finance function (industry and/or public accounting)
Preferred Qualifications
- 5+ years of recent experience in a fast-paced, deadline-driven, results-oriented tax department or similar working environment.
- Strong attention to detail, analytical capability, and sound problem-solving skills
- Ability to interpret, analyze, and organize detailed legal, tax jurisdiction, and geographic information
- Experience using online research tools and data sources such as Checkpoint and TTR
- Strong tax research skills, including a solid understanding of U.S. retail and healthcare sales taxability concepts
- Ability to communicate clearly, accurately, and tactfully, both verbally and in writing, and translate complex tax rules for business partners and customers
- Ability to work independently with a high degree of accuracy, judgment, and attention to detail
Preferred Computer and Software Skills
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Excel and Word
- Experience with Thomson Reuters OneSource Tax Determination and Vertex O-Series
- Ability and initiative to learn new systems required to perform job responsibilities
Education
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, Legal Studies or a related field

The typical pay range for this role is:
$46,988.00 - $112,200.00This pay range represents the base hourly rate or base annual full-time salary for all positions in the job grade within which this position falls. The actual base salary offer will depend on a variety of factors including experience, education, geography and other relevant factors. This position is eligible for a CVS Health bonus, commission or short-term incentive program in addition to the base pay range listed above.
