The Role

The Director, Strategy & Planning, will support various strategic planning processes and programs for the Asset Management Technology organization. This role will be part of the Strategy Enablement and Engagement (SEE) team which supports the strategy development and delivery of Asset Management’s technology portfolio.

The Value You Deliver

  • Support strategic planning and quarterly business management processes for the AM Technology organization by identifying and communicating key deliverables, internal milestones, and roles and responsibilities.

  • Develop high-quality executive presentations for executive reviews in partnership with peers and business partners.

  • Find opportunities to drive consistency and effectiveness of planning and governance activities within the Strategy Enablement and Engagement team and across the technology organization.

  • Facilitate effective collaboration and communication across Asset Management Technology leaders and partners including Finance, HR, and other Fidelity technology organizations.

  • Develop both broad and detailed views of Asset Management Technology’s portfolio of products, capabilities, initiatives, resources, and investments.

  • Work across technology leaders to identify critical decisions, dependencies, risks, and challenges and help facilitate discussion and resolution among senior management team.

  • Own the AM Technology associate engagement strategy and supervise the associate engagement program manager in leading various engagement programs including the AM Tech Intern program and Rewards & Recognition program as well as several events and large meetings with associates and senior leaders.

The Expertise You Have

  • Outstanding written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to represent complex concepts for consumption by broad audiences and to facilitate decision making by senior management

  • Demonstrated success in developing strategy and experience facilitating planning processes within a large organization

  • Expertise in using data to drive decision making and discussion

  • Meticulous with detail and passionate about delivery high quality results

  • Comfort with complexity and ambiguity

  • Ability to build credibility and trust with a diverse range of partners to effectively influence outcomes

  • Experience managing small teams and getting work done through others through influence and delegation

  • Innovative, forward-thinker who quickly understands context, and effectively challenges the status quo and drive tough decisions

  • An understanding of Asset Management businesses and supporting technologies preferred

  • 10-12+ years of proven expertise in relevant fields; MBA degree or equivalent experience preferred
