Position Description:

Provides immediate on-call support and systems analysis to investigate and diagnose incidents, restoring failed IT service as quickly as possible. Develops data visualization and digital tools to enable automated solutions (for the digitization of existing process and business-led transformation). Maintains and updates documentation based upon system changes, issues, solutions, and new procedures and resources. Recommends changes to existing systems design to achieve requirements, and recommends designs for new systems based on requirements. Maintains the incident management process from detection to resolution, including prioritizing incidents, creating protocols, and providing status reports. Participates in the review and validation of Quality Assurance test plans to ensure requirements have been met. Conducts exploratory data analysis to uncover insights and trends, and presents finding through visualization and reports. Contributes to the analysis strategy for technology projects culminating in the creation of documentation to support project needs. Collaborates with business and technology partners to identify, review, define, interpret, and clarify scope of work in terms of business and/or system requirements and processes.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Investigates and diagnoses all Incidents and Service Requests.

  • Assists in defining analysis strategy.

  • Writes business cases for review.

  • Creates and submits knowledge articles.

  • Develops Power Platform based solutions.

  • Recommends traceability improvements.

  • Monitors documentation standards and best practices.

  • Escalates to additional subject matter experts as needed.

  • Verifies resolution with end-users and resolves assigned incidents.

  • Establishes project plans for projects of moderate scope.

  • Documents troubleshooting steps and service restoration details.

  • Works on complex assignments and on multiple phases of a project.

  • Documents objectives, use cases, requirements, and specifications.

  • Collaborates directly with the user community for project definition.

  • Acts as a technical responder familiar with the system or service experiencing an incident.

  • Translates business requirements to system requirements according to Agile best practices.

  • Communicates project plan information, objectives, and deliverables to the team.

  • Implements preventative measures to reduce the likelihood of future incidents.

  • Identifies and records risks, issues, dependencies, and assumptions in accordance with project standards.

  • Discovers potential causes, patterns, or underlying data to support analysis efforts.

Education and Experience:

Bachelor’s degree (or foreign education equivalent) in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, Information Systems, Business Administration Information Systems, Mathematics, Physics, or a closely related field and three (3) years of experience as a Senior Systems Analyst (or closely related occupation) performing systems analysis on Web applications in a financial services environment.

Or, alternatively, Master’s degree (or foreign education equivalent) in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, Information Systems, Business Administration Information Systems, Mathematics, Physics, or a closely related field and one (1) year of experience as a Senior Systems Analyst (or closely related occupation) performing systems analysis on Web applications in a financial services environment.

Skills and Knowledge:

Candidate must also possess:

  • Demonstrated Expertise (“DE”) analyzing application logs to troubleshoot financial Web applications, using Splunk and Datadog; configuring content to directly call SOAP and REST Webservices, using Postman and Insomnia; and analyzing usage volume using Adobe Analytics.

  • DE writing complex T-SQL/PLSQL queries and scripts to insert and extract data into/from data sets within relational database environments (DB2, Oracle, Sybase, and MSSQL); and writing stored procedures to insert and maintain test data for financial Web applications.

  • DE creating planning session Epics and Stories for Agile project management processes, using Atlassian Jira and Confluence; maintaining healthy story backlogs using Atlassian Jira; conducting story refinement sessions using Kanban boards; executing and documenting systems analysis of business requirements for financial Web applications in user stories, using Jira and Confluence.

  • DE designing and developing data visualizations and dashboards using Tableau and PowerBI; and developing low code solutions using Microsoft Power Platform.
