Job Description:

As the Vice President of Leadership Communications, your primary responsibility is to provide strategic executive communications support to the Head of Fidelity Technology/Chief Information Officer, coaching him towards executing best practices in executive communications and, associate engagement.

In this role, you will partner closely with the leaders of the Enterprise and Fidelity Technology Strategy & Planning, Human Resources and Global Experience teams to develop and drive the executive communications strategy, plan and content for the Head of Technology aligned with the Fidelity Technology strategy. This includes leading aspects of CIO content development for extended leadership team meetings, town halls and all associates meetings and the creative use of other channels to deliver CIO communications, partnering closely with the Global Experience team. You will have a seat at the senior table, serving as an advisor to the senior leadership team and the CIO Council.

You will be a part of the Leadership Communications at Fidelity and will work with some of Fidelity’s most talented communicators to inform and engage Fidelity’s associates, connect with the external marketplace, and support the success of Fidelity’s businesses while integrating Enterprise Technology and Leadership Communications with broader Fidelity communications.

EXPEREIENCE AND EXPERTISE

  • Extensive executive communications experience working with c-suite (L1 level) executives.

  • Proven ability to coach and counsel senior executives on best practices for a range of communications. styles and a strategic communicator who can recommend, plan and deliver communications that aligns with Technology and enterprise goals

  • Ability to adapt to all types of executive working styles

  • Highly resilient and unflappable, able to work in a high stakes’ and fast paced, high-volume environment under tight deadlines and on competing priorities.

EXCELS AT MESSAGE DEVELOPMENT AND CONTENT CREATION

  • An active listener with the ability to quickly grasp ideas .and concepts, connect the dots with other important concepts, and translate them into messaging appropriate for various audiences for use across various media/channels.

  • Excellent storyteller with the ability to take complex concepts and distill them into compelling yet simple concepts that resonates with key stakeholders.

  • Effective at collaborating with senior leaders and business partners to develop leader and program communications including messaging frameworks, presentations, talking points, social media posts, and more.

  • Experience working across Fidelity to align communications and messaging, as appropriate, with the different business units and enterprise-focused teams.

  • Experience working closely with Strategy and Planning and HR business partners to create and deliver communications.

  • Demonstrated expertise infusing communications with creativity through innovative thinking and problem-solving.

EXPERIENCED COMMUNCIATOR

  • Expertise across executive, internal, and external communications, thought leadership and policy and advocacy communications with a proven ability to integrate a multi-faceted communications program for a technology executive.

    • Highly organized and skilled at project management. Able to develop frameworks and implement communications best practices to bring efficiency and order o the executive communications program.

    • Strong leadership, facilitation, influencing, decision-making and advocacy-building skills, including ability to cultivate relationships with senior leaders and other strategic partners to align internal and external communications.

    • Expertise developing useful measures and metrics and using them to drive decisions and demonstrate the impact of communications your team delivers.

    • Bachelor’s Degree, 15+ years with corporate communications or agency, with experience in both internal and external communications required.

BUSINESS ACUMEN

  • Strong business acumen and a strategic mindset.

  • Demonstrated technology communications experience.

  • Technically-adept, able to grasp concepts related to technology, fintechs, blockchain, and long-term innovation horizon scanning, and communicate them in easy-to-understand language for audiences of all backgrounds.

  • Experience prioritizing against team goals and organizational strategies to produce results.

You’ll have many opportunities to grow and deliver impact as you partner closely with colleagues throughout Enterprise Technology, Corporate Affairs, including Government Relations/Public Policy, External Communications, and Social Media teams, along with Fidelity colleagues across Meetings & Events, and Human Resources and Leadership Communications.

You’ll be a member of the Corporate Affairs function. This team is all about 'thinking and working across Fidelity,' ensuring that we are driving more impactful communications and outcomes to a range of stakeholder audiences, including legislators and regulators, community members, media, industry influencers and associates.
