Position Description:
Develops the data process framework of universal identification to deliver modern data and systems solutions by designing and developing the enterprise analytics platform in support of data services, using SQL, Jira, and Python. Builds data and systems solutions with enterprise data lakes and Cloud data platforms (Snowflake) to capture business requirements and translate them into data solutions. Analyzes datasets to obtain valuable insights and defines user stories to validate the impact of changes to datasets and data models. Develops, documents, and revises system design procedures, test procedures, and quality standards by consulting with management to ensure agreement on system principles.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Defines use cases and simplifies complex datasets.
- Captures business requirements and translates them into data solutions to effectively define use cases and simplify complex concepts.
- Defines user stories and validates the impact of changes to datasets and data models.
- Implements knowledge of agile methodologies and practices for a solid understanding of SQL and Python for the independent wrangle of datasets to obtain valuable insights.
- Defines robust test scenarios using data analysis and data profiling.
- Creates and coordinates alternative approaches to benefit data, business processes, or resolve organizational issues.
- Applies data management and data modeling practices to build data solutions.
Education and Experience:
Bachelor’s degree (or foreign education equivalent) in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, Information Systems, Mathematics, Physics, or a closely related field and five (5) years of experience as a Principal IT Data Analyst (or closely related occupation) designing and developing data services across the data lifecycle.
Or, alternatively, Master's degree (or foreign education equivalent) in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, Information Systems, Mathematics, Physics, or a closely related field and three (3) years of experience as a Principal IT Data Analyst (or closely related occupation) designing and developing data services across the data lifecycle.
Skills and Knowledge:
Candidate must also possess:
- Demonstrated Expertise (“DE”) coordinating data related projects according to Agile methodologies, using Confluence, Miro, Atlassian Jira/Jira Align, and MOSCOW.
- DE designing and developing data services across the data lifecycle using Power Designer, Collibra, Snowflake, AWS, and Oracle.
- DE designing and implementing data modeling to map and consolidate information from multiple enterprise databases, including using Power Designer to generate data models, using Collibra to define data glossary terms and lineage, and using Visio to create dataflow and system diagrams.
- DE analyzing and profiling large-scale data sets comprising 100 – 150M data features to detect trends and generate statistics and patterns using SQL across the data lifecycle; designing and implementing data movement using batch jobs; and performing data consumption using Java built APIs and Power BI tools.
