Position Description:
Defines conceptual and logical data models to assemble organizational data needs across multiple subject areas. Creates physical design from logical data models for different types of systems -- operational systems, data warehouses, and data lakes. Collaborates with DBAs, architects, and subject area owners to create scalable data models. Formulates mathematical or simulation models of problems, relating constants and variables, restrictions, alternatives, conflicting objectives, and their numerical parameters.
Primary Responsibilities:
Provides data support to teams during production implementation.
Acts as the liaison between business and technology partners to translate business requirements into technical design solutions.
Engages with business and technology partners to understand the business requirements, analyze data gaps, and recommend appropriate solutions.
Assesses objectives, use cases, data requirements, and specifications documents created by other analysts.
Analyzes and resolves major data issues that arise in projects or in production environments.
Conducts research to identify effective data designs, tools, and methodologies for data analysis.
Documents and presents database solutions to product partners for approval.
Performs validation and tests models to ensure adequacy, and reformulates models, as necessary.
Collaborates with senior managers and decision makers to identify and solve problems and to clarify management objectives.
Presents results of mathematical modeling and data analysis to management or other end users.
Collaborates with others to ensure successful implementation of chosen problem solutions.
Education and Experience:
Bachelor’s degree (or foreign education equivalent) in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, Information Systems, Mathematics, Physics, or a closely related field and three (3) years of experience as a Senior Data Analyst (or closely related occupation) performing data analysis and design modeling in a financial services environment.
Or, alternatively, Master’s degree (or foreign education equivalent) in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, Information Systems, Mathematics, Physics, or a closely related field and one (1) year of experience as a Senior Data Analyst (or closely related occupation) performing data analysis and design modeling in a financial services environment.
Skills and Knowledge:
Candidate must also possess:
Demonstrated Expertise (“DE”) performing data analytics for business users based on enterprise requirements, using SQL analytical functions and Informatica Enterprise Data Catalog (EDC); and creating and implementing data quality checks to ensure the accuracy of data for business use using Informatica Data Quality (IDQ).
DE creating Entity-Relational (ER) Data Models and Data Warehouse (DW) Data Models conceptual models (to be presented to information architects), logical models (for business stakeholders), and physical data models (to be implemented in databases), using SAP Power Designer; proposing, designing, and implementing ER or DW models based on business requirements; and generating Data Definition Languages (DDLs) for physical implementation of tables, using SAP Power Designer.
DE creating business requirement documents in Microsoft Word, to document requests from business partners and define the technical components of work to be done by data engineering teams; and collaborating with technology partners to analyze data and create a Source-To-Target (STM) mapping document using TOAD in MS Excel.
DE planning, designing, and implementing DATA Application Programming Interface (API) signatures for RESTful APIs using Open API Specification (OAS); creating, editing, and organizing API definitions using the Swagger Hub platform; and performing API socialization using Swagger Hub API exploratory features.
Salary: $134,550.00 - $139,100.00/year.
