The Role

We are looking to hire a Senior Analyst for our Corporate Audit Innovation team. As an innovation practitioner, you will deliver automation capabilities that generate efficiency and enhance the assurance provided by Corporate Audit.

You are an automation and data science practitioner with background in applying innovative techniques to the audit process. Your role as an experienced member of the Innovation team within Corporate Audit supports the development of strong organization wide digital auditing capabilities that require knowledge of front-end web development.

How Your Work Impacts the Organization

Our mission in Fidelity Corporate Audit is to drive positive change and protect the firm and its customers by providing risk-based and objective assurance, advice and insights.

On the Audit Innovation team, we accomplish this through:

- Developing automated web-based technology solutions that help in assessing the adequacy and effectiveness of controls, risk management, compliance and governance processes

- Actionable reporting and operational insights on issues and resolution plans that improve Fidelity’s control environment

- Developing continuous risk assessment and anomaly detection capabilities through use of sophisticated data analytics and data mining techniques

- Leading the charge in use of ML/AI, and Gen AI capabilities as enablers to re-imagine how we conduct assurance activities in the firm.

The goal of Innovation Team is to develop automation capabilities that result in a data intelligent organization and improve the audit life cycle by providing operational insights. We need a team member who enjoys collaboration, is always looking for a new challenge that helps them grow as a professional!

Candidates should demonstrate hands-on technology skills and may be required to share access to GitHub code repositories or complete case studies to assess technical prowess.

The Expertise You Have

  • 1 - 4 years demonstrated ability in developing Automation or Data Science capabilities in a risk and controls environment, preferably within financial services.
  • Expertise and development experience with at least three of the following:
    • Python
    • Front-end Development Skills
      • JavaScript / Typescript (and related frontend UI frameworks)
      • React / NextJS
      • HTML/CSS
    • Relational Databases, NoSQL Databases (including graph databases)
    • ML/AI algorithms
    • UI/UX design experience
    • Elementary understanding of Cloud, Docker
    • DevOps tools (JenkinsCore, Terraform, Kubernetes etc.)
    • Understanding of REST API
  • BS/MS in Computational Sciences, Data Science, Math, Engineering, Cybersecurity, or related field of study.
  • Professional audit or information security experience and / or certifications preferred (CIA, CISA, CISSP, etc.).
  • Cloud computing (AWS or Azure) related professional-level certifications preferred.
  • Financial Services industry experience preferred.
  • Strong oral and written communication and ability to articulate audit and automation goals and value to stakeholders.
  • Experience working with and understanding the needs of clients
  • Analytical skills and experience evaluating risk and making decisions based on hard/soft data
  • Ability to quickly learn new subject matter in various business/technical areas, develop others, and have fun doing all of this!

  • Technology solutions development as it relates to improvement and automation of risk and control processes and sub-processes.
  • Working on project and / or initiatives, individual contributor or with other data scientists, automation software engineers, providing technical expertise by tapping into current or past hands-on development experience
  • Knowledge of financial services industry including retail (e.g., managed accounts, self-directed brokerage), and institutional client product offerings and services (e.g. custody and clearing, capital markets), and industry regulations and requirements preferred.
  • Collaboration skills and a fact-based, data driven approach to understanding risks to our business.

  • Complete the project and initiatives for your team and develop digital auditing solutions
  • Sharing information about the innovation squad’s output and priorities with other squad members

Support your team to achieve goals for each sprint

  • Implement audit automation work through a well-organized backlog and clearly communicating the highest value work
  • Delivering work product according to the acceptance criteria for audit automation and assurance enhancing capabilities

Support and enabling your squad to deliver high quality audit innovation work product

  • Regularly engaging with the team members to offer updates, and provide feedback on work-in-progress, clarify requirements and answer business and technology questions
  • Removing roadblocks or impediments that prevent the squad from progressing on its work
The base salary range for this position is $64,000-$121,000 per year.

Placement in the range will vary based on job responsibilities and scope, geographic location, candidate’s relevant experience, and other factors.

Base salary is only part of the total compensation package. Depending on the position and eligibility requirements, the offer package may also include bonus or other variable compensation.
