Creates technical and business documentation for software solutions. Works with cloud technologies (Amazon Web Services (AWS)), Azure, and Google Cloud) to implement capabilities and systems including AWS Step Functions, Camunda BPM, XTRAC, Salesforce.com, and Appian. Drives enterprise platforms with a large customer base. Conducts systems analysis projects with a multi-regional footprint and high impact. Provides analysis on complex systems projects, often across subsystems and companies, in a matrix organization. Consults with business users to develop recommendations that address complex business needs and opportunities.
Primary Responsibilities:
Conducts interviews with business users to gather requirements, and analyzes technology needs, system, and workflow challenges.
Develops recommendations to address complex business needs and opportunities.
Establishes full project life cycle plans for complex systems analysis projects and defines project scope.
Collaborates with other analysts in the execution of documents on large and complex projects and monitors the quality and progress of documents created by other analysts.
Designs new systems based on requirements.
Collaborates to define test strategies, and coordinates user acceptance testing efforts.
Communicates progress of multiple projects to management, engages stakeholders on a regular basis, and monitors expectations of internal and external stakeholders.
Serves as industry subject matter expert and identifies other subject matter experts who are the sources of requirements for large and complex projects.
Works with other teams to evolve standards and best practices for systems analysis processes.
Participates in incident/crisis management to assess business impact, determine/facilitate any workarounds, in concert with the production support organization.
Advises on risk assessment and risk management strategies.
Coaches and mentors junior product analysts and developers on systems analysis techniques and business workflows.
Education and Experience:
Bachelor’s degree (or foreign education equivalent) in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, Information Systems, Business Analytics, Mathematics, or a closely related field and five (5) years of experience as a Principal Systems Analyst (or closely related occupation) designing, developing, and delivering application components (orchestration and high-performance) in an Agile environment.
Or, alternatively, Master’s degree (or foreign education equivalent) in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, Information Systems, Business Analytics, Mathematics, or a closely related field and three (3) years of experience as a Principal Systems Analyst (or closely related occupation) designing, developing, and delivering application components (orchestration and high-performance) in an Agile environment.
Skills and Knowledge:
Candidate must also possess:
Demonstrated Expertise (“DE”) performing data analysis and suggesting solutions for data analytics by studying underlying processes (to identify data anomalies, suggest improvements, and minimize errors during data transmission and processing) and running SQL queries on database management solutions, using AWS or DBeaver.
DE performing data analysis and drafting business conclusions using Grafana or Datadog within the product ownership domain (to visualize data used to make informed decisions on feature implementation and to identify dependencies or complexities that could hinder progress).
DE performing research, creation, and authorship of comprehensive business and solution requirements by identifying initial needs and composing clear and concise user stories that adhere to set criteria, using Jira and Rally.
DE contributing to and implementing solutions across all aspects of the Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC) to ensure consistency, efficiency, quality assurance, cost management, and risk management using ServiceNow and Jira; and delivering innovative software solutions according to Agile methodologies, security requirements, and software development best practices using BitBucket, Confluence, and Jira (for shipping products to market faster, optimizing resource utilization, and increasing customer satisfaction).
