The Role

Under the direction of the Senior Manager, Regulatory Accounting, this role is responsible for the preparation and/or review ensuring the accuracy and completeness of audit package materials. Work within a team of other preparers and reviewers charged with data intake, enrichment and reconciliation. Adhere to production deadlines for your assignments and work with internal and external business partners to research and resolve issues. Adapt to a constantly evolving regulatory and operations environment. Lead process improvement initiatives including the creation of business requirements, test plans and end to end rollout. Support the department’s overall mission to deliver quality accounting system data to internal and external business partners supporting regulatory reporting requirements.

  • Prepare and/or review reconciliations, financial statement data, and/or other regulatory required products utilizing various systems and process validations.
  • Work on multiple assignments each reporting cycle and effectively prioritize tasks to ensure assignments are completed timely and accurately.
  • Identify, analyze, and resolve potential risks using knowledge of department policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements.
  • Work across various document types to support business objectives and product lines.
  • Collaborate with the team and external business partners to support small- and large-scale strategic initiatives.
  • Provide direction and oversight on assignments, projects, and processes
  • Maintain relationships with internal and external business partners.

The Expertise and Skills You Bring

  • Related Accounting, Finance or Regulatory Reporting Experience
  • Knowledge of Investments, Accounting & Mutual Fund Industry
  • Knowledge of Alternative Investments (preferred)
  • Accuracy & Attention to Detail
  • Analytical and Critical Thinking Skills
  • Strong Computer and Application Skills, Including InvestOne and Microsoft Office Applications
  • Self-Starter with ability to work under Pressure & Meet deadlines

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting/Finance (Preferred)
  • 3-5 years of experience in mutual fund operations, accounting or finance
  • Detailed-oriented with solid understanding of business and financial concepts and accounting

The Team

The Accounting for Regulatory Reporting Compliance (ARRC) Team is responsible for delivering quality accounting system data to internal and external business partners supporting regulatory reporting requirements. The ARRC Team annually prepares and delivers over 7k annual audit workpapers supporting FMR, FIC, FIAM and CIT funds. Fidelity’s monthly regulatory reporting requirements can not be met without the ARRC Team accurately delivering this information in a timely manner.
