The Role

Risk Analyst, Fidelity Institutional Risk

We are seeking a highly motivated individual contributor to join our FI Risk testing team. The Risk Analyst will conduct control testing, while identifying and mitigating risks across a diverse set of Fidelity Institutional business areas. In addition, you will support specialized risk initiatives such as developing innovative solutions to enhance and automate control testing, while fostering a strong risk attitude. Another key function is the creation and validation of senior level reporting. This is a unique opportunity for a curious individual to collaborate across many lines of business to find innovative solutions to address testing and oversight requirements.

The Expertise You Have

  • Experience in risk management, audit, control testing, and/or compliance related work, or comparable experience in operations, finance, trading or other business roles.
  • Strong analytical ability with an understanding of risks and impacts
  • Practical working knowledge of common reporting and visualization tools (ex. MS Excel, Tableau, Snowflake, PowerBi, Alteryx, or similar applications)
  • Ability to give and eventually lead discussion on issues or procedural deficiencies putting the firm at risk for current or future financial exposures or losses
  • Strong verbal and written communication and organizational skills
  • Able to lead meetings with senior leaders walking through their respective controls
  • Ability to work on multiple tasks and handle competing priorities and workload
  • 3-5 years experience in financial services, risk management, audit, control testing, compliance and/or analytics related work is a plus
  • Strong teammate who takes initiative, builds consensus, and communicates effectively with others

  • Apply data driven approach to test and analyze risk, successfully completing regulatory testing assignments
  • Identify strategies to improve and streamline control testing program, including applications of analytic techniques, tools, and methods
  • Promoting a culture of risk management by establishing relationships and creating awareness about the risks facing our business partners

The Team

The candidate will join a dynamic closely-knit group that prides itself on encouraging creative ideas. In this role, you will help ensure that Fidelity protects its reputation and aligns with laws and regulations relating to the risks. To complete this goal, the team is responsible for identifying, testing, and reporting on significant risks and helping management improve the control environment. By challenging the norm and valuing pace over precision, you will help drive innovation in our space. This role will provide the right candidate with an opportunity to gain exposure to a range of operational and regulatory functions, build strong risk management skills, and make an impact within a critical and highly visible organization. The team has a diverse set of skills in the following areas: brokerage knowledge, audit/testing background, presentation skills, and data analysis and reporting, including Tableau, Alteryx and PowerBi. We are seeking a candidate who has strengths as noted below, but more importantly, is willing to learn skills where needed.

Most roles at Fidelity are Hybrid, requiring associates to work onsite every other week (all business days, M-F) in a Fidelity office. This does not apply to Remote or fully Onsite roles.
