The Role
The Associate Analyst, Global Product & Market Information will work as part of a team that is responsible for coordinating all set up efforts for new fund events, foreign account opening, and foreign account maintenance. The Associate Analyst, Global Product & Market Information will assist GPMI senior personnel with evaluating and monitoring foreign market developments and infrastructure to formulate recommendations to the International Markets Committee (IMC) and Global Depository Committee (GDC) for establishing fund investment guidelines and depository risk assessments, respectively. The successful candidate will also assist with monitoring developments in foreign markets, partake in updating procedures and collaborate with internal business partners and external custodian banks. All of this ensures that business teams across the company are able to continue supporting the fund’s investment activities. Full and comprehensive training will be provided as part of the onboarding process.
- Coordinate with the team, global custodians, prime brokers, and internal Fidelity business units to launch new funds, execute fund mergers, perform sub portfolio conversions, and implement fund name changes and terminations.
- Become a subject matter expert on and maintain foreign account opening requirements across all markets, global custodians, and prime brokers.
- Assist with completion and submission of foreign account opening, withholding tax and proxy power of attorney (PoA) documentation.
- Work with more senior analysts to coordinate, execute, and track portfolio manager foreign account opening instructions and advisor fund name changes.
- Assist with FFIO’s efforts to reconcile and monitor all foreign accounts to ensure that the funds are properly serviced across all foreign markets and access to foreign markets is not compromised.
- Assist with monitoring foreign market developments and ensuring FFIO readiness.
- Assist with monitoring the foreign sub custodian networks of Fidelity’s global custodians and prime brokers.
- Assist with developing appropriate procedures in response to changing concerns and interests among funds and foreign markets.
- Assist with systems set up and review peer setups to ensure accurate trade and foreign exchange instruction delivery to the internal and external parties.
The Expertise and Skills You Bring
- Bachelor’s degree in business-related field.
- Financial services experience.
- Foreign and/or complex securities operational experience.
- Knowledge of Power BI and data analytics/visualization are a distinct advantage.
- Effective time management and prioritization skills.
- Excellent interpersonal and communications skills.
- Ability to handle multiple projects and tasks simultaneously within a tight timeframe.

The Team
The Global Product and Market Information (GPMI) group within the Fidelity Fund and Investment Operations (FFIO) division provides information and direction to various areas of FMR, FIAM, FIC, FMTC, Geode, SAI, and FFIO in reviewing the impact of changes to common practices and official regulations in foreign markets, as well as in developing operating procedures that mitigate risk to the funds. On behalf of the funds, it also obtains, monitors, and maintains investment licenses to facilitate foreign market investment. GPMI also represents FFIO in on-site due diligence reviews of foreign markets and on several Fidelity-wide committees where it assists with evaluating the risks inherent with foreign markets and depositories and provides guidance to help establish the firm’s guidelines dictating the eligibility of funds to invest internationally.
