Job Description:
Analyzes business data to develop conceptual, logical, and physical data model designs to support the various Agile projects with diverse scope in a multi-platform, highly integrated data environment, using Oracle, PostgreSQL, and NoSQL databases. Works closely with business and technical teams to drive the creation of scalable and documented data design solutions. Drives the adoption of Enterprise standard modeling best practices. Partners with squads to deliver practical and resilient data model designs that meet business needs and are capable of easily adapting to future business requirements.
Primary Responsibilities:
• Manages data requirements gathering and analysis sessions with business and technical staff to analyze data requirements and recommend appropriate solutions.
• Transforms logical models to physical models and generates and tests Data Definition Language (DDL) scripts.
• Implements modeling strategies – Relational and Unstructured -- using data modelling tools: SAP Power Designer and Erwin.
• Designs and creates OLTP recordkeeping data models using database platforms -- Oracle, PostgreSQL and NoSQL.
• Manages projects in an Agile environment.
• Facilitates the design and maintenance of highly normalized data models and maintains a robust inventory of design frameworks and standards.
• Coordinates multiple requests and projects at the same time while meeting various deadlines.
Education and Experience:
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, Information Systems, or a closely related field (or foreign education equivalent) and five (5) years of experience as a Principal Data Modeler (or closely related occupation) modeling OLTP recordkeeping applications on database platforms -- Oracle, PostgreSQL and NoSQL.
Or, alternatively, Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, Information Systems, or a closely related field (or foreign education equivalent) and three (3) years of experience as a Principal Data Modeler (or closely related occupation) modeling OLTP recordkeeping applications on database platforms -- Oracle, PostgreSQL and NoSQL.

Candidate must also possess:
Demonstrated Expertise (“DE”) leading data discovery and design sessions in collaboration with development squads, Architects, and Database Administrators (DBAs) using Mural, Visio, Excel, Zoom, and Teams.
DE designing fully normalized (3NF) relational data models using SAP PowerDesigner, Erwin, or ER/Studio within database platforms – Oracle and PostgreSQL.
DE analyzing and profiling legacy data to create new, scalable, and resilient data designs to meet future business requirements using SQL query tools – Toad and SQL Developer.
DE integrating partitioning and indexing in physical data models using SAP PowerDesigner, Erwin, or ER/Studio according to feedback from development squads, Architects, and DBAs; and testing and generating Data Definition Language (DDL) scripts in an Oracle or PostgreSQL sandbox to ensure quality of scripts before delivery to deployment pipelines.
