Director, Engineering Manager – FDAM - Asset Management Technology
The Role
An ideal candidate for this role will bring deep expertise in blockchain technologies to drive design, development and deployment of decentralized systems for financial asset management. The candidate will combine strong leadership and architecture skills with hands-on experience in DeFi protocols, smart contracts, and scalable distributed systems with a passion for enabling business outcomes and developing leaders and associates. The Engineering Manager –will lead a cross-functional team of full stack engineers, collaborate with product managers, architects and business stakeholders for Fidelity Digital Asset Management within Asset management Technology. In this role the individual will play a key role in defining the product and technology roadmap aligned to the business strategy. The candidate will be responsible for fostering a vibrant environment of growth, development, and continuous improvement for the software engineering practices. They will also be responsible for actively seeking feedback and maintaining strong partnership with leadership across business, product and technology. The candidate will be responsible for influencing decisions to improve delivery capabilities and realize business outcomes. The value you deliver will include:

The Expertise and Skills You Bring
12-14 years of software engineering experience; at least 3 years in blockchain development
Proficiency in smart contract development (Solidity, Rust) and auditing, deep understanding of blockchain consensus mechanism, cryptography, tokenomics and transaction lifecycle
Design and implement scalable blockchain based system for tokenization, smart wallets and integration with DeFi protocols for primarily public blockchains like Ethereum, Solana and private DLTs
Lead the development of smart contracts, interoperability between blockchain components and integration with traditional financial systems
Knowledge of cloud-native architecture (AWS) and containerization (Docker, EKS)
Effectively manage delivery timelines for product roadmap along with stakeholder communication
Lead a team of blockchain engineers, smart contract developers and full stack engineers
Promotes and demonstrates a learning mindset by staying abreast of emerging trends in blockchain technology
Committed and inspirational leader capable of developing associates & leaders to achieve their fullest potential within their job family and career goals
Strong in communication, interpersonal and relationship building skills with which you influence decisions and engagement across all levels of the organization.

Work closely with globally distributed product, engineering and business teams across regions which may include working across time zones and travel for business workshops, planning sessions and meetings

As a member of the Asset Management technology team, you will be part of the team which supports the Fidelity Asset Management business.

The base salary range for this position is $126,000-255,000 USD per year.Placement in the range will vary based on job responsibilities and scope, geographic location, candidate’s relevant experience, and other factors.
Base salary is only part of the total compensation package. Depending on the position and eligibility requirements, the offer package may also include bonus or other variable compensation.
