The Role
The Director of Fidelity Workplace Investing Communications will work directly with the leaders of the Workplace Investing business to set communications strategies and messaging, as well as lead, design, and execute impactful communications programs and events.
As a trusted consultant to executives with deep expertise in communications strategy, event execution, and content, this role will guide several members of the senior leadership team toward best practices in executive communications, associate engagement, and change management, and play a lead role in the development and execution of additional types of business communications beyond those of senior leaders, working with key business partners (e.g., HR, Strategy & Planning, Finance, Meetings & Events, etc.).
The Expertise and Skills You Bring
Bachelor’s degree
8-10+ years of relevant experience as a communications professional
Expertise across executive, internal, and external communications
Experience executing large-scale internal, and external events
Financial services and technology background preferred
Strong business acumen and a strategic mindset, able to understand a business’ multi-year plan, financial drivers, and align and prioritize high-impact communications around this for a diverse set of audiences
Excellent program management and planning skills, with proven ability to lead multiple components of multi-faceted communications programs
Content strategist with exceptional storytelling skills across various media/channels (e.g., events, videos, presentations, talking points, and emails), with the ability to take complex concepts and distill them into compelling content that resonates with key stakeholders
Ability to lead the creation of audience-first event communications strategies to ensure a cohesive and engaging event experience for all participants
Collaborative and relationship-oriented, with the ability to think and work across the firm with business leaders, content owners, and other communicators to shape compelling meeting/event agendas, session formats, messaging strategies, and event narratives.
Innovative thinker, with a desire to continuously learn and take creativity to the next level
Strength in change management with the ability to adapt with agility and help organizations navigate transformation through clear, strategic communications.
Independent and consultative – able to provide strategic recommendations across all levels of an organization, with a particular skill in consulting with senior leaders
Focused on quality but can balance pace over perfection
Demonstrates impact of the communications and leader support the team delivers

The Team
The Workplace Investing Communications team is part of the Fidelity Leadership Communications organization. Working closely with senior leaders within the Fidelity Workplace Investing organization, we develop communications programs that inspire the associates to help more people – whether they are client-facing or creating and marketing the products, solutions or capabilities that we offer. As part of the larger Corporate Communications team, we are able to connect our work to larger enterprise efforts that reach a range of internal and external audiences.
