The Role
Strategic Advisors Technology (SAT) is seeking a Senior Systems Analyst to play a vital role in one of Fidelity's critical strategic programs. In this role you will partner with Fidelity business stakeholders to understand their key business drivers and business requirements. This is not just about gathering requirements; it's about understanding the "why" behind them. You will then work with your Development Team and technology counterparts to translate these into user stories and deliver high quality, innovative and timely solutions.
This role requires a dedicated, curious, and passionate Senior Analyst who brings strong skills in the following areas:
- Collaborating with business stakeholders to gather and analyze business and functional requirements and confirm these via meaningful artifacts (Business Requirements documents, process flows, use cases, etc.)
- Performing cost-benefit analyses to ensure technology investments for the given business requirements are strategically aligned, financially sound, and deliver maximum business value
- Converting business requirements into actionable delivery plans with defined milestones and timelines
- Identifying and managing risks and dependencies for planned work
- Implementing delivery plans through quarterly planning and backlog management
- Managing product backlogs using collaborative tools including JIRA, Confluence, PowerPoint, Excel, and SharePoint
- Translating complex business requirements into user stories with well-defined business value and acceptance criteria
- Leading team refinement sessions to ensure stories are clear and ready for sprint planning
- Defining story acceptance tests in collaboration with the team, applying Acceptance Test Driven Development (ATDD) principles during refinement.
- Ownership of user story sign-off, ensuring the delivery meets the requirements and has passed all tests (automated and manual)
- Proactively identifying opportunities for process and system improvements to extend the value delivered to your business partners
- Where Needed - Participation in End-to-End test activities to ensure functionality is working per the requirements
Education and Experience
At minimum, a Bachelor’s degree (or foreign education equivalent) in Computer Science, Business Analytics, Engineering, Information Technology, Information Systems, or a closely related field and Five (5) years experience as a Systems Analyst
The Expertise and Skills You Bring
- Financial services industry knowledge and experience is highly desirable, investment management and/or wealth management domain knowledge a plus
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Able to understand the technology and software architecture of an application
- Experience with various tools that assist in analysis and testing including SQL Developer, Insomnia, Kafka - Offset Explorer, and Datadog for data validation and debugging, Jira and Confluence.
- Willingness to dive in and understand code for analysis and support purposes
- Familiarity with modern AI tools and their application in Systems Analysis is desirable
- Has worked in an Agile environment that uses the Scrum Methodology and is experienced with the related events and artifacts
- Has effectively worked in a global, team-based environment with team members in various locations and countries.

As a Senior Systems Analyst on the team, you work in partnership with the Strategic Advisors business stakeholders, Squad team members, Product Area Leader to understand the product vision and challenges. From there, you’ll work with your technology counterparts to deliver innovative, cost effective, architecturally aligned, and timely solutions.
