The Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and responsive team player who is able to multi-task and has excellent analytic skills. Our work is highly collaborative and involves close coordination and excellent communication with our clients, market data vendors and key business and technology partners across Fidelity.

The Senior Manager will manage the planning processes and resource allocation within the team. Will oversee the daily workload distribution to ensure core helpdesk and project assignments are equitable, challenging, and are completed in an accurate and timely manner. The Manager will also be responsible for ensuring that service level agreements are met and that all Help Desk support activities are completed as well as, oversight of specific data processes, and the execution of manual reporting and other validation activities. Partnering with other Senior Managers globally to ensure daily data management responsibilities and helpdesk coverage are met and aligned with business needs. Working with the Director, technology, customers, business and systems partners, the Senior Manager will plan and prioritize operational projects and manage team efforts end-to-end.

The Expertise and Skills You Bring

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance or related field required.
  • 8+ years of Financial Services Industry experience working with Market reference data
  • Experience working with third party data providers such as Bloomberg, RIMES, Thomson Reuters, IDC, and industry ratings vendors
  • Demonstrated experience in Project/Process Management methodologies such as Agile, Six Sigma, Lean
  • Prior experience in coding, data queries/data visualization and BI reporting tools / applications preferred
  • Experienced with one or more programming applications/languages such as SQL, R, Python
  • Conceptual or working knowledge on Cloud infrastructure
  • In depth understanding of data analytics with a consistent track record of delivering actionable insight through analysis
  • Self-starter requiring minimum supervision
  • Demonstrable ability to multi-task, prioritize and meet deadlines
  • Works collaboratively to achieve the team’s overall goals and objective
  • A critical thinker and a problem solver while bringing attention to details and accuracy
  • Proven track record to work independently and multi-functionally with all levels of associates, management, technology and other business partners
  • Able to lead interaction with clients, end users of the data and senior management
  • Expert level in-depth understanding and knowledge of applicable business processes
  • Excellent written and verbal communication, particularly when discussing complex issues
  • Excellent interpersonal skills
  • Solid Organizational, Project and Process Leadership skills applying industry standard methodologies
  • Highly experienced with financial market reference data
  • Strategic problem solver able to plan ahead but also able to deliver to that plan
  • Proactive participation & management of varied projects/initiatives
  • Develop strategies and build database queries to analyze and validate data
  • Bring thought leaderships in innovative ways for continuous process improvements
  • Good working knowledge on the latest technology trends while leading various automation techniques including machine learning
  • Lead detailed data analysis to support changes to various data areas
  • Proactively analyze and solve problems and issues associated with the data
  • Be a leader/SME in understanding the investment process and the products supported by DMO
  • Play a lead role in engaging the business customers to understand data-related issues
  • Ability to transform data into actionable insight, both for data quality projects and run the business
  • Lead data management projects/initiatives involving multiple business partners and provides domain expertise
  • Mentor, guide and onboard junior associates on data analytics and operations activities and share knowledge with peers
  • Be an active participant in project/portfolio metrics generation
  • Facilitate high standards in document management for processes and procedures
  • Be a leader in adopting changes
  • Adhere to Fidelity’s Risk & Control policies & procedures

The Global Data Services (GDS) team within Fidelity Fund and Investment Operations (FFIO) is a global, investment data management organization that specializes in the sourcing, analysis, integration, management and distribution of security, index, and portfolio data. GDS provides these data services for reference, evaluative, performance and analytical data in support of global investment decision making organizations. Data Management Operations (DMO), a division of GDS, specializes in managing, integrating and validating vendor and Fidelity-defined data associated with investment entities (securities, issues, brokers, funds, portfolios and index data).

Most roles at Fidelity are Hybrid, requiring associates to work onsite every other week (all business days, M-F) in a Fidelity office. This does not apply to Remote or fully Onsite roles.
