The Role
Fidelity’s Investment Information Services (IIS) team is looking for a Market Data Manager (MDM) Manager to lead our Market Data Analyst team and manage the market data needs of Asset Management investment professionals, and the broader Fidelity community. This role is essential in supporting Asset Management professionals and ensuring our market data solutions deliver maximum value across the organization.
The MDM is responsible for overseeing the accelerated evaluation of new market data vendor offerings to determine if the content is highly valued, redundant, complementary, or not required in our environment. Moreover, once the services are acquired in a timely and cost-efficient manner, the MDM is responsible for ensuring the content is leveraged, promoted and utilized across the organization. Additionally, the MDM is responsible for day-to-day oversight of the Fidelity market data spend analysis. Finally, the MDM frequently plays a key role on special strategic projects by contributing to major decisions that impact Fidelity’s market data strategy and overall vision.
- Act as the primary contact for all incoming non-sector market data requests and vendor evaluations
- Provide project management and leadership for evaluations, trials and rollouts.

- Collaborate with Business Partners, Hotlines, MDS, TSO, and EIMT, defining lists of standard desktop applications, identifying vendor integration opportunities, developing DR strategy, testing market data applications/upgrades, etc.
- Lead and develop a high-performing Market Data Analyst team
- Manage market data spend and identify cost-saving opportunities
- Provide strategic feedback on acquisitions, renewals, and contract negotiations
- Promote and optimize utilization of market data services
- Drive strategic vendor management initiatives.
The Experience & Skills You Bring
- BS/BA required; MLS/MBA preferred
- 8+ years in market data vendor or financial services
- Strong people management skills with complex deliverables that impact business operations as well as the investment process
- Proven ability to build relationships and influence outcomes
- Experience facilitating meetings and leading discussions with business
- Ability to effectively multi-task and respond to dynamically changing work environment and to positively prioritize and influence business outcomes
- Prior people management experience

The Team
Market Data and Vendor Strategy is a team of Market Data Professionals, Vendor Managers, Contract Specialists and Lawyers that provide outstanding service, specializing in market data and research service relationships for the Firm. We are part of the larger Fidelity Fund and Investment Operations business unit supporting the acquisition, management, dissemination, and use of data across the Firm. In Market Data and Vendor Strategy, we collaborate with groups across Fidelity including finance, risk, legal and compliance along with numerous investment teams providing opportunities to expand your network and gain a better understanding of the business.
The base salary range for this position is $85,000-171,000 USD per year.Placement in the range will vary based on job responsibilities and scope, geographic location, candidate’s relevant experience, and other factors.
Base salary is only part of the total compensation package. Depending on the position and eligibility requirements, the offer package may also include bonus or other variable compensation.
