Job Description:

Please Note: We are unable to consider visa sponsorship for this role.

The Mission:
As an Associate Business Analyst, you are a vital support pillar for your squad. We aren’t looking for years of industry-specific experience; we are looking for a naturally curious problem-solver with the learning agility to master our domain quickly. You will work closely with a Senior Business Analyst and Squad Leader to translate business needs into actionable technical goals, growing into a key contributor through hands-on execution.

Expertise You Have (Foundational DNA)

  • Structured Thinking: You have a natural ability to take a messy, undefined problem and break it down into logical, manageable pieces.
  • Analytical Curiosity: You are a "why" seeker. You possess a restless desire to uncover root causes and learn how complex systems work from the ground up.
  • Active Listening & Synthesis: You can process dense information from stakeholders and summarize it clearly, ensuring that no detail is lost in translation.
  • Agile Mindset: You have a foundational understanding of Agile methodologies and are eager to use tools like Jira or Confluence to manage workflows.
  • Academic or Project Foundation: A Bachelor’s degree in a quantitative or business field (e.g., Business Analytics, Economics, Engineering or Computer Science) or equivalent project experience.

Skills You Bring (Capabilities to Develop)

  • Requirements Documentation: You can assist in drafting User Stories and clear acceptance criteria, ensuring developers have a solid roadmap for what to build.
  • Process Mapping: A burgeoning skill in creating visual Workflow Diagrams (using Visio, Miro, or similar tools) to help teams visualize current and future states.
  • Adaptability & Resilience: You stay focused in fast-paced environments and can pivot quickly as squad priorities shift.
  • Diplomacy & Collaboration: You are a natural bridge-builder who enjoys working in multi-disciplinary teams and can navigate different perspectives with a positive attitude.
  • Basic Data Fluency: Comfort working with Excel to analyze and summarize information for team decision-making, and Power Point for translating the data into impactful stories.

Value You Deliver

  • Squad Support: Assist the Squad Leader in managing and prioritizing the product backlog to ensure the team is always working on the highest-value tasks.
  • Quality Assurance Assistance: Participate in User Acceptance Testing (UAT), helping to validate that delivered solutions solve the original business problem.
  • Clear Communication: Facilitate internal meetings and sprint demos, keeping all stakeholders informed on project progress and roadmap health.
  • Continuous Improvement: Proactively identify process bottlenecks and suggest creative ways the squad can work faster or more efficiently.
  • Relationship Building: Develop strong working relationships with IT, Legal, and Compliance partners to help initiatives reach completion.

The Team

  • Our Mission: We serve those who serve others. The Tax Exempt Market (TEM) business unit provides specialized retirement plan services to benefit leaders and employees at mission-based, not-for-profit organizations, including major healthcare systems, colleges, and universities.
  • Strategic Partnership: In this role, you will work in lockstep with TEM Product Leadership, Commercialization, and Engineering to design and deliver features that directly improve the financial well-being of our participants.
