Position Description:

Develops artifacts that support efficient and effective solution delivery with user stories, process maps/workflows, and system diagrams. Coordinates and participates in User Acceptance Testing (UAT). Analyzes and validates complex data sets using SQL. Tests, maintains, and monitors computer programs and systems, including coordinating the installation of computer programs and systems. Executes analysis for medium-sized projects. Documents requirements and creates specifications and makes design recommendations for medium-sized projects.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Contributes to the analysis strategy for technology projects and document creation to support project needs.
  • Recommends changes to existing systems design to achieve requirements.
  • Recommends designs for new systems based on requirements.
  • Documents objectives, use cases, requirements, and specifications.
  • Monitors documentation standards and best practices.
  • Recommends traceability improvements.
  • Establishes project plans for projects of moderate scope and works on multiple projects concurrently.
  • Works directly with the user community for project definition.
  • Communicates project plan information, objectives, and deliverables to the team.
  • Works on complex assignments and on multiple phases of a project.
  • Assists in defining analysis strategy.
  • Writes business cases for review.
  • Identifies and records risks, issues, dependencies, and assumptions in accordance with project standards.
  • Participates in the review and validation of test plans to ensure requirements have been met.
  • Works with business and technology partners to identify, review, define, interpret, and clarify scope of work in terms of business and system requirements, and processes.

Education and Experience:

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, Information Systems, Engineering Management, or a closely related field (or foreign education equivalent) and three (3) years of experience as a Senior Systems Analyst (or closely related occupation) building requirements, and designing and implementing solutions, using Jira, ServiceNow, and Microsoft Office.

Or, alternatively, Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, Information Systems, Engineering Management, or a closely related field (or foreign education equivalent) and one (1) year of experience as a Senior Systems Analyst (or closely related occupation) building requirements, and designing and implementing solutions, using Jira, ServiceNow, and Microsoft Office.

Skills and Knowledge:

Candidate must also possess:

  • Demonstrated Expertise (“DE”) performing full-stack systems analysis and design -- gathering requirements and documentation, producing systems flowcharts, performing data mining and functional design, and articulating both business and technical needs as functional and non-functional user stories -- using Jira, ServiceNow, and Microsoft Visio.
  • DE translating business needs into functional and technical specifications, including data models, process flows, and system architecture diagrams with support integration of disparate systems, using RESTful APIs, middleware, and data exchange protocols (JSON and XML); and developing test plans, conducting system and User Acceptance Testing (UAT), and troubleshooting issues across development and production environments, using Postman, SQL Developer, Jira, and Microsoft Office.
  • DE performing Continuous Improvement (CI) by identifying areas of improvement, optimizing existing processes, and mitigating recurring issues following Agile development methodologies, using Jira; implementing enhancements, data and bug fixes, and project builds, using Jenkins; and coordinating with stakeholders and downstream systems to resolve cross system dependent tickets, facilitating data sharing, and meeting business demands, using Service Now, Jira, and Microsoft Office.
  • DE guiding systems integration using solution/program increment planning road map, creating features in Jira, and collaborating with technology partners to refine the stories and prioritize business requirements using Jira and Microsoft Office; and acting as a liaison between business and technology partners to derive systems solutions for business needs, using Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe) processes.

Salary: $120,318.00 - $130,318.00/year.
