Researches, optimizes, develops, and authorizes solution requirements, user stories, and specifications for moderate to complex software systems within an Agile environment, using Structured Query Language (SQL), representational state transfer (REST), simple object access protocol (SOAP), JavaScript Object Notation (JSON), Splunk, and Application Programming Interfaces (APIs). Performs codes and programs systems using SQL. Organizes system data by developing relational database schemas. Performs issue and bug tracks using JIRA. Executes analysis and systems analysis for medium sized projects. Documents requirements and creates specifications, and makes design recommendations for medium-sized projects.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Works with business partners and technology partners to identify, review, define, interpret, and clarify scope of work in terms of business and/or system requirements and processes.
- Contributes to the analysis strategy for technology projects culminating in the creation of documentation to support project needs.
- Recommends changes to existing systems design to achieve requirements, and recommends designs for new systems based on requirements.
- Documents objectives, use cases, requirements, and specifications.
- Monitors documentation standards and best practices.
- Recommends traceability improvements.
- Establishes project plans for projects of moderate scope and works on multiple projects concurrently.
- Works directly with the user community for project definition.
- Communicates project plan information, objectives, and deliverables to the team.
- Works on complex assignments and on multiple phases of a project.
- Assists in defining analysis strategy.
- Writes business cases for review.
- Identifies and records risks, issues, dependencies, and assumptions in accordance with project standards.
- Participates in the review and validation of Quality Assurance test plans to ensure requirements have been met.
Education and Experience:
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, Information Systems, or a closely related field (or foreign education equivalent) and three (3) years of experience as a Senior Systems Analyst (or closely related occupation) performing systems analysis for secure Web-based applications in a financial services environment.
Or, alternatively, Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, Information Systems, or a closely related field (or foreign education equivalent) and one (1) year of experience as a Senior Systems Analyst (or closely related occupation) performing systems analysis for secure Web-based applications in a financial services environment.
Skills and Knowledge:
Candidate must also possess:
- Demonstrated Expertise (“DE”) executing systems analysis for complex projects, making design recommendations, diagramming business processes and systems, documenting specifications and developing solutions to meet requirements using MS Visio.
- DE performing full-stack systems analysis and design, gathering requirements and documentation, performing data mining, performing functional design, analyzing system dependencies for Java Web services, analyzing data of backend DB2 and Oracle, using SQL.
- DE providing technical analysis and detailed specifications of legacy and modern Web applications developed using Java, Javascript, CSS, or HTML; and analyzing application logs testing, production support and application validation using Datadog or Splunk.
- DE prioritizing project tasks in product backlogs to monitor Scrum boards using Jira within an Agile Scrum framework; and developing and maintaining product documentation using Confluence, and collaborating on user interface design using Figma.
