The Role

The Director, Technology Strategy is responsible for supporting the development, articulation, and governance of Fidelity’s Asset Management Technology (AMT) strategy and associated multi‑year technology roadmap. Reporting to the Vice President, Technology Strategy, this position sits within the Technology Strategy & Governance (TSG) team in Asset Management.

  • Support the creation, refinement, and maintenance of AM Technology’s multi‑year technology strategy, ensuring alignment with business priorities and enterprise‑level technology direction.

  • Translate complex strategy content into executive briefs, strategic narratives, annual plans, and roadmap visuals—for audiences at all levels, including senior leadership and cross‑functional stakeholders.

  • In partnership with the Asset Management communications team, lead the dissemination of strategy through executive presentations, All Associate Meetings, and AM Tech leadership meetings to ensure consistent understanding and alignment across AM Technology.

  • Maintain and evolve AM Technology’s strategic book of work, which represents highest priority initiatives, spotlighting progress, risks and issues, and strategic alignment.

  • Partner with TSG leadership to establish and improve governance mechanisms that ensure the initiatives in the strategic book of work are prioritized and communicated effectively.

  • Regularly engage with delivery leaders to understand evolving product and platform roadmaps.

  • Support the execution of select AM Technology strategic project through structured problem solving, data analysis, and coordination with business partners.

The Expertise and Skills You Bring

  • Demonstrated experience in technology strategy development or strategic planning at enterprise or business-unit level.

  • Strong analytical skills and problem-solving skills including the ability to interpret data and form clear recommendations

  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to simplify complexity for executive audiences

  • Proven ability to influence and build trust with stakeholders across both business and technology.

  • Comfort in operating in a complex, matrixed organizations with evolving priorities.

  • Experience in asset management or financial services technology is a significant plus.

  • Familiarity with product operating models, roadmap development, and navigating delivery challenges.

  • 10–12+ years of relevant experience; IT consulting, MBA or equivalent preferred

The Team

The TSG organization is responsible for defining and maintaining the AMT strategy, driving effective program management and delivery practices, overseeing operations, and managing both discretionary and non-discretionary Enterprise Technology–driven initiatives within AMT.

This role is a key connector across Asset Management Technology, ensuring strategic alignment, clear communication, effective execution governance, and informed prioritization.

The base salary range for this position is $110,000-255,000 USD per year.

Placement in the range will vary based on job responsibilities and scope, geographic location, candidate’s relevant experience, and other factors.

Base salary is only part of the total compensation package. Depending on the position and eligibility requirements, the offer package may also include bonus or other variable compensation.
