The Role
The Senior Analyst, Custom SMA Investment Services will help support the VP of Custom SMA Investment Services on Fidelity’s Custom SMA offering for intermediaries. The position will play a critical role engaging with key business partners across Custom SMA Portfolio Management, Portfolio Engineering, Platform Enablement, Technology, Investment Product, and our Fidelity Institutional partners to understand and define the business requirements and processes supporting the entity. Additionally, it will support the continued build out of the product offering and the on-going run of the day-to-day Custom SMA business with proper efficiencies, scale and risk mitigation.
Responsibilities
Develop a deep understanding of the current end to end investment and client support model for the Custom SMA offering, and help to identify areas of improvements in technology integration and/or business processes
Help to identify and mitigate operational risk in investment processes and supporting ecosystem – evaluate existing tools and processes, recommend solutions, enhancements and controls, and drive implementation
Facilitate and lead meetings to ensure the requirements of portfolio management, operational and platform needs of QRI are clearly articulated, understood, prioritized, and delivered
Partner with Investment Services Operations team in defining, documenting and overseeing processes and procedures supporting the Custom SMA offering
Develop and maintain strong relationships at multiple levels with key internal and cross company business partners, while acting as an advocate for QRI throughout the organization
Assist in coordination of key infrastructure projects across technology and other business partners, from analysis/design phase through development, testing and rollout.
The Expertise and Skills You Bring
6 years’ experience supporting investment management capabilities
Bachelor’s degree required
Experience with investment and operational process improvements, business analysis, systems analysis, and systems development projects
Ability to work within cross-functional and cross-business unit teams
Knowledge of managed account operating models, including tools, platforms, policies, and procedures
Highly effective and consistent written and verbal communication capabilities
Strong team orientation; commitment to excellence and attention to detail
Excellent problem-solving skills
Analytical skills, along with logical and critical thinking
Proven track record defining, documenting, implementing and supporting scalable processes and workflows
The Team
The role is part of the Asset Management (AM) CRBO division,
which is comprised of: AM Risk, Business Operations and Strategy, Fidelity Fund and Investment Operations, Investment Services and Investment Risk Management teams. This division works together to support AM's strategic goals while operating as the best partner to the business to protect our clients via risk oversight, common data and support, as well as strategic business planning. The Quantitative Research Investment Services (QRI IS) team, while part of CRBO, is aligned with the priorities of the Quantitative Research and Investments (QRI) organization within Asset Management. In particular, this role supports the Custom Portfolio Management team responsible for the management of custom SMAs. Today, the team runs $9B of client assets across single/multi-family offices and RIA/BD clients.
Placement in the range will vary based on job responsibilities and scope, geographic location, candidate’s relevant experience, and other factors.
Base salary is only part of the total compensation package. Depending on the position and eligibility requirements, the offer package may also include bonus or other variable compensation.
