Job Description:
Please Note: We are unable to consider visa sponsorship for this role.
The Team
Our Mission: We serve those who serve others. The Tax Exempt Market (TEM) supports mission‑driven institutions—including major healthcare systems, colleges, and universities—by delivering retirement plan services that improve financial well‑being.
Strategic Partnership: In this senior role, you will collaborate closely with TEM Product Leadership, Engineering, Distribution, Operations, and global teams to design and deliver capabilities that transform the participant and plan sponsor experience.
The Role
As a Director, TEM Business Analysis & Strategy, you will be a senior, high‑impact force within the TEM Product Area. We are looking for a strategic systems thinker who can quickly understand and operate within a multi‑platform ecosystem with intricate processes, data interactions, and operational touchpoints. You are not expected to perform technical implementation work; you are expected to understand data, system behavior, and cross‑domain dependencies well enough to influence decisions, shape strategy, and ensure delivery. You are the person who becomes a domain expert quickly and uses that expertise to drive clarity, alignment, and outcomes across a global ecosystem. Acting as an end‑to‑end analytical integrator, you will connect business strategy, platform capabilities, and delivery execution. You will translate the why behind critical initiatives into a cohesive what—and, where appropriate, the how—that TEM teams can align to and deliver against.
Expertise You Have (Core Capabilities)
Product Development, Product Management or Product Strategy: 10+ years of experience operating across product development, product management, or product strategy, with a strong foundation in business analysis. Experience within financial services, technology, or other highly regulated industries preferred.
Strategic Curiosity & Enterprise Learning Agility: Rapidly learn complex business and technical domains, challenge assumptions, uncover root causes, and translate ambiguity into structured insight.
Complex Problem Structuring: Break down large, multi‑team initiatives into logical components, risks, dependencies, and decision points, bringing clarity and strong analytical rigor.
Agile & Delivery Leadership: Orchestrate iterative product delivery across multiple squads and platforms, managing the backlog with an enterprise lens and prioritizing work based on value. Help squads with required epics and stories.
Requirements & Solution Definition: Lead discovery, define current/future states, and craft clear user stories and acceptance criteria that connect process, data, systems, and customer experience.
Skills You Bring (Behavioral DNA)
Influence, Diplomacy & Executive Presence: Navigate complex enterprise landscapes, build trust across functions, and guide partners toward shared outcomes even when interests diverge.
Facilitation & Cross‑Functional Alignment: Synthesize input across global teams, lead working sessions and technical discussions, shape trade‑offs, and define MVP criteria rooted in business and customer value.
Resilience, Accountability & Adaptability: Take full ownership of outcomes, manage shifting priorities and release cycles, and maintain focus through uncertainty and cross‑team complexity.
Holistic Systems & Data Thinking: Connect people, processes, systems, and data to identify implications and risks across the ecosystem, translating insights into clear requirements and execution guidance.
Value You Deliver
Strategic Guidance & Trusted Advisor Leadership: Provide clarity, structure, and recommendations for cross‑team initiatives, acting as a senior consultant across TEM and adjacent environments.
Risk, Dependency & Barrier Management: Identify, communicate, and resolve blockers across business, operations, technology, and global partners with urgency and precision.
Multi‑Team Stakeholder Alignment: Drive alignment across Operations, Distribution, Strategy, Engineering, and QA, ensuring transparent, consistent communication from inception to launch.
Execution & Organizational Readiness Leadership: Lead initiatives from idea through delivery, ensuring workflows, data impacts, operations, and customer experience considerations are fully prepared for go‑live. Serve as a business leader during production issues—helping assess impacts, clarify requirements, evaluate business risk, and coordinate cross‑team responses
