The Role
The Senior Manager, Data Analytics & Insights, plays a critical role in strengthening how Procurement and Vendor Management leverage data to engage external suppliers, business partners, and internal stakeholders. This role helps enable more informed, data-driven decisions across Vendor Management by translating complex information into actionable insights.
The role is responsible for detailed analytics, decision-support analyses, and the development of a broad range of technical and analytical solutions for diverse audiences, from operational teams to senior leadership. The Sr. Manager exercises independent judgment in selecting data inputs, determining analytical approaches, interpreting results, and shaping information strategies that support recommendations.
In addition to delivering analytics and insights, this role serves as a key steward of the Vendor Management data and technology ecosystem. The Sr. Manager helps ensure the reliability, scalability, governance, and ongoing operation of analytics platforms by partnering with technology teams, managing data access and governance processes, supporting data architecture initiatives, and driving automation and data curation capabilities that enable trusted, self-service analytics across the organization.
This position requires a high degree of autonomy. The Senior Manager independently identifies and validates data sources, evaluates scenarios, develops data and market perspectives, and delivers both concise executive summaries and deeper analytical insights. Success in the role depends on proactive engagement, strong communication skills, and the ability to continuously contribute value-adding insights that influence outcomes and improve how Vendor Management operates.
The Expertise & Skills You Bring
Analytics & Insights
- Apply advanced analytics, reporting, and visualization techniques to uncover insights, identify opportunities, and drive measurable business outcomes.
- Use data visualization and storytelling to communicate complex findings and influence decision-making across Vendor Management and senior leadership.
- Utilize SQL and relational database technologies to acquire, transform, analyze, and validate data from diverse sources.
- Develop and manage enterprise data sources, semantic layers, and reporting assets that support Tableau, Power BI, and self-service analytics.
- Leverage Snowflake, Tableau, Power BI, Power Apps, SQL, and related technologies to deliver scalable analytics solutions and business value.
- Partner with business stakeholders to translate requirements into actionable insights, scalable reporting solutions, and data-driven recommendations.
Data Platform, Governance & Technology Management
- Serve as a liaison between business stakeholders, technology teams, and data providers to drive platform enhancements, resolve issues, and support analytics delivery.
- Own Technology Management Lifecycle (TML) responsibilities for the analytics ecosystem, ensuring platform reliability, governance, operational support, and continuous improvement.
- Oversee data governance, data stewardship, data curation, and data-sharing processes to ensure trusted, accessible, and business-ready data assets.
- Establish and apply data management, security, and access governance practices that strengthen data quality, compliance, and appropriate use of information.
- Build and maintain data pipelines, ETL processes, curated datasets, and reusable data assets that enable efficient reporting and self-service analytics.
- Partner with architecture, engineering, and support teams to maintain and support analytics infrastructure, prioritize enhancements, manage backlogs, and ensure the stability and scalability of data platforms.
The Team
The team delivers insights through advanced analytics, visualization, and data storytelling in support of Vendor Management’s objectives, including cost savings, risk mitigation, process efficiency, and execution of key initiatives. The sr. Manager partners closely with Vendor Management leaders and cross-functional teams to ensure analytics are aligned with business priorities and effectively support strategic planning and execution.
Fidelity’s Onsite Working Model
Fidelity is transitioning to a full-time onsite working model through a phased rollout across regions and roles. Currently, some roles and locations require 100% onsite presence, while others require less. Onsite expectations are likely to evolve as the rollout continues. This transition does not apply to fully remote roles.
