Develops and maintains curated data repositories for an enterprise analytics platform. Analyzes complex datasets from several sources (demographics and investments) using SQL, Python, and front-end analytics (Tableau). Writes and updates design documentation using Confluence. Uses business knowledge to translate the vision for divisional initiatives into business solutions by developing complex or multiple software applications and conducting studies of alternatives. Analyzes and recommends changes in project development policies, procedures, standards, and strategies to development experts and management.
Primary Responsibilities:
Recommends design changes to complex, interrelated systems designed to meet complicated requirements, improve performance, or reduce costs of ownership.
Designs new systems based on requirements gathered during the requirements analysis phase.
Mentors other analysts in the documentation of large and complex projects.
Monitors the quality and progress of documents.
Documents formal specifications describing solutions to meet requirements.
Analyzes data held within transactional, warehouse, and data lakes, and communicates findings to senior management.
Analyzes information processing and computation needs.
Plans and designs computer systems using structured analysis, data modeling, and information engineering.
Develops, documents, and revises system design procedures, test procedures, and quality standards.
Consults with management to ensure agreement on system principles.
Education and Experience:
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, Information Systems, or a closely related field (or foreign education equivalent) and five (5) years of experience as a Principal IT Data Analyst (or closely related occupation) performing data analysis, profiling, and modeling across Legal, Risk, & Compliance functions within the financial domain, using SQL, PL/SQL, and Python.
Or, alternatively, Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, Information Systems, or a closely related field (or foreign education equivalent) and three (3) years of experience as a Principal IT Data Analyst (or closely related occupation) performing data analysis, profiling, and modeling across Legal, Risk, & Compliance functions within the financial domain, using SQL, PL/SQL, and Python.
Skills and Knowledge:
Candidate must also possess:
Demonstrated Expertise (“DE”) translating business requirements into data driven solutions (to create conceptual, logical and physical models) using SAP Power Designer; supporting unstructured and semi structured data storage design patterns using AWS-S3, Kafka, and Snowflake; parsing out attributes from data to identify patterns, using SQL, KSQL, or PL/SQL; and analyzing, evaluating, and creating data objects based on relational or dimensional data models in Oracle, Snowflake, MySQL, and PostgreSQL.
DE developing data profiling frameworks using SQL and Python; performing end-to-end data analysis and sourcing (to target data mapping) using Oracle, Snowflake, and ICEDQ; and establishing governance and dictionary data practices using Alation and Collibra.
DE designing and implementing data movement processes for data warehouses or datalakes by developing mappings and extract, transform, load (ETL) workflows, using Informatica, Apache Nifi, or Control-M; deploying code changes using Github or Jenkins; performing application testing to write stored procedure using PL/SQL and Python adhering to coding standards; and optimizing SQL queries and batch processes using Oracle, Snowflake, NiFi, and DBT.
DE performing data wrangling using Python, R, Alteryx, and Jupyter Notebook; performing data visualization using BI tools (PowerBI, tableau, and Excel); developing Machine Learning (ML) models using Artificial Intelligent (AI)/ML algorithm (decision tree model, k-Nearest Neighbors (KNN) model, Binary tree model, and Linear and Logistic regression data model) and Python and R to evaluate external and internal risk scores; and performing story creation, backlog refinement, and sprint planning according to Agile methodologies (Jira), within a financial services compliance environment.
Salary: $115,775.00 to $166,000.00/year.

Fidelity’s Onsite Working Model
Fidelity is transitioning to a full-time onsite working model through a phased rollout across regions and roles. Currently, some roles and locations require 100% onsite presence, while others require less. Onsite expectations are likely to evolve as the rollout continues. This transition does not apply to fully remote roles.
