Qualifications

Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
  • 10 years of experience in program or project management.
  • 7 years of experience in a leadership role.
  • Experience in product strategy, executive communication, presenting to executive audiences, competitive analysis, market analysis, data analysis, project management, project planning, stakeholder management, and cross-functional collaboration.

Preferred qualifications:

  • 10 years of experience managing cross-functional or cross-team projects.
  • Experience in complex strategic initiatives across multiple products, functions, and geographies.
  • Understanding of our competitive landscape and ecosystem and its business models.
  • Understanding of global platform and big tech regulations.
  • Ability to grow in ambiguity and impact in a high-growth technology company.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with product and business leaders and executives.

Product and Business Strategy Leaders bring together teams across Google’s functions to help products execute optimally. Our team pushes Google to scale at key points that refine our products and infrastructure by executing efficiently, bringing solid business sense and sound judgment, and working effectively across organizational lines.

Our roles often include components of strategy (e.g. analyzing and understanding new trends in the industry, building business plans), operations (e.g. running the cadence of organizations, connecting the operating lines between our functions), and communications. Our team partners with senior leadership to run important functions that cross-cut our existing organizations and deliver high impact projects. We help Engineers, PMs, UX, and all of our other functions to build amazing products that delight our users, and then get those products into their hands.

Google’s Platforms and Ecosystems Product Area develops products that help users around the world access and enjoy the benefits of computing. Our core products such as Android, Chrome, and Google Play span large and diverse ecosystems of component and device manufacturers, software developers, mobile network operators, distributors, and more.

The Mission of the Android and Play Strategy team is to proactively drive a strategic agenda and align priorities to create a winning and sustainable Android platform and ecosystem.

The Android and Play Strategy team identifies strategic questions and opportunities related to the growth and business models of our Android and Play platforms and products. As a part of this, we define strategies for the stewardship of these ecosystems in a rapidly changing and complex environment including evolving regulatory frameworks for our products.

The Platforms and Ecosystems product area encompasses Google's various computing software platforms across environments (desktop, mobile, applications). The products provide enterprises, and ultimately end users, the ability to utilize and manage their services at scale. We build innovative and compelling software products—from apps to TVs, from laptops to phones—that have an impact on people’s lives across the world.

The US base salary range for this full-time position is $203,000-$299,000 + bonus + equity + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. The range displayed on each job posting reflects the minimum and maximum target for new hire salaries for the position across all US locations. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Responsibilities

  • Lead projects and collaborate with team members, product, engineering, and business leaders as well as Legal and Government Affairs and Public Policy (GAPP) colleagues and other cross-functional stakeholders to oversee multiple large initiatives, with stakeholders from different products and cross-functional teams.
  • Solve problems strategically with the requisite product/business acumen to connect regulatory topics and product innovations with financial performance, user metrics, product operations, and Google’s priorities including how various teams are involved.
  • Assess regulatory topics and their potential impact on our ecosystems.
  • Help evolve commercial frameworks and platform policies going forward.
  • Serve as a thought leader and trusted partner to executive leadership across the organization. Leverage trust, network, and relationships to influence desired outcomes.
