Investment Risk Analyst

As a member of Guardian’s Investment Risk department within Enterprise Risk Management, you will support 2nd line of defense of Guardian’s General Account investments. The individual will focus on reporting, portfolio oversight, surveillance, and ad hoc projects related to the Financial Risk profile of the company. The emphasis will be on data gathering, reporting, and analysis.
You are
Curious and self-starting. Technically proficient to work with large data sets, build production ready reports and dashboards, familiar with fixed income risk, and the ability to communicate and present advanced analytical information to various audiences. Technical skills include the ability to build (or learn how to) tools for data management, analytics and modelling, and front-end reporting. Working knowledge of multiple asset classes and the primary risk drivers. Ability to build relationships with key stakeholders is key.
You have
3-5 years of experience gained from a significant financial institution with preference for life insurance companies
Advanced Excel, PowerPoint, and Database management tools (SQL, Tableau, etc)
Credit Modelling experience preferred
Multi-Asset class knowledge base (Public & Private Bonds, Commercial Real Estate, Securitized Products)
Great communicator and “Can Do” attitude
Ability to work independently as well as in a team
Ability to take complex issues and simplify for execution
You will
Support the Investment and Financial Risk team
Build tools and automation to enhance risk surveillance and reporting (Credit, Risk Appetite, Limits, etc) by building tools and automation
Monitor portfolio for compliance with policies and guidelines as well as emerging risks
Provide support and analytics to broader Financial & Enterprise Risk management function

Hybrid role – Guardian office- Hudson Yards, NYC – 2 days in office, 3 days WFH
Salary Range
$114,080.00 - $187,415.00The salary range reflected above is a good faith estimate of base pay for the primary location of the position. The salary for this position ultimately will be determined based on the education, experience, knowledge, and abilities of the successful candidate. In addition to salary, this role may also be eligible for annual, sales, or other incentive compensation.
