EVP, Head of Strategy

Hill Holliday is seeking an EVP, Head of Strategy to oversee the integrated strategy across our portfolio of brands. You are a proven strategic leader able to provide client leadership and steward the development of creative work that wins the daily battle for attention share. You have a deep understanding of culture, an ability to identify and articulate profound human truths, and the business acumen required to build iconic brands. In this position, you will manage a team charged with the strategic and creative development of that portfolio to ensure the work is consistently and powerfully driving business.
What you’ll do:
- Be a trusted adviser to clients and most senior creative partners and agency leaders.
- Elevate the overall ingenuity and innovation of the thinking and strategy output on all brands, helping everyone (via training and coaching) to elevate their work.
- Proactively think how to improve creative output via mixing of different thinker and skill sets.
- New business ownership and direction of reports.
- Staffing and allocation management.
- Vision for team direction, training, advancement.
- Ensure constant improvement to the team and internal and client facing processes.
- Strong thought leadership for the agency, including events and broader industry.
- Bring broader insights and knowledge to the group, helping to apply insights and trends from in and out of category.
What you’ll bring:
- 15+ years of experience in an advertising agency
- Bachelor’s degree in marketing, communications or related field
- Proven track record in a senior leadership role
Your Skills:
Leadership
- Responsible for setting the tone and driving the culture of the agency, and holding oneself and fellow senior leaders accountable to highest standard of leadership.
- Responsible for diversity in all forms and inclusion at all levels throughout the agency.
- Steward and public representative of the Hill Holliday brand
- Sets and strategically adjusts future direction in their craft, for Hill Holliday, and for the industry.
Collaboration
- Responsible for effectiveness and health of the agency.
- Creates a collaborative and inclusive environment for all of Hill Holliday, it's partners, vendors and clients.
- Acts as a role model by consistently demonstrating high levels of collaborative behavior.
- Leads D+I events and initiatives, speakers series, and/or other cultural and team-building offerings for their teams and beyond; encourages team and direct reports to engage and participate in related events.
Accountability for Results
- Ensures all agency department/team and client expectations are being met and exceeded.
- Always has a vision, answers and solutions or a plan to get to them.
- Responsible for externally communicating Hill Holliday's results and impact.
