Job Description

The role can be hybrid out of the Boston area or fully remote anywhere else in the US.


The role will develop and implement integrated marketing, retention, and plan efficiency campaigns with a specific focus on plan sponsors and third party administrators. Drive strategy for high-level, strategic, complex programs in global retirement organization, with responsibilities in both the US and Canadian markets. This role also has people leader responsibilities and will report directly to the Head of Marketing for John Hancock Retirement and will coordinate very closely with Head of Marketing of Manulife Retirement.


Responsibilities

  • Build strategies that reinforce the buying decision of plan sponsor to bring their retirement plan to Manulife/John Hancock.
  • Independently develop and lead integrated marketing programs to drive sales and brand awareness
  • Write and present integrated marketing plans for high-level, complete initiatives that support sales efforts and generate repeatable results.
  • Recommend and develop appropriate communication vehicles for achieving marketing objectives
  • Develop and maintain relationships across all departments, including sales, relationship management, product, legal, compliance, and where applicable, external advisors and distributors.
  • Collaborate with product management, internal and external sales management to ensure alignment of efforts.
  • Collaborate with internal colleagues to produce the highest quality work every day. Seek continuous improvement.
  • Monitor and report on effectiveness of ongoing/existing sales and marketing programs relative to competitor activities and current market conditions.
  • Manage the development of campaigns for new and existing products and programs ensuring strategies support business and marketing strategies.
  • Manage operational processes to facilitate marketing campaigns such as compliance review, material creation and quality improvement.
  • Creatively and effectively manage all media to drive marketing campaigns
  • Track return on investment, evaluate campaign success using analytics.
  • Create, track and manage budgets for areas of oversight
  • Develop and deliver effective presentations to key collaborators.
  • Indirectly or directly train, supervise, mentor and motivate staff.
  • Drive plan efficiency through target communication plans closely coordinated with product, service, and sale teams.
  • Uncover efficiencies at a global level within the marketing organization
  • Improve plan sponsor loyalty measured by NPS -c initiatives
  • Build and maintain a high performing team

What we are looking for

  • Bachelor's Degree is required.
  • 10-12 years of experience in a marketing manager or account management role with experience in the retirement industry
  • Investment and/or retirement business insight required
  • Knowledge or Third-Party Administrator market a plus
  • Management experience
  • Excellent organizational and prioritization skills, including the ability to meet deadlines
  • Capacity to work in a fast-paced, often changing environment.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills
  • Creative and entrepreneurial problem solver with a solution-oriented approach.
  • Ability to build and maintain strong relationships at all levels of the organization
  • Demonstrated experience managing internal and external client relationships.
  • Ability to work independently and collaborate within a team environment.

Salary & Benefits

The annual base salary for this role is listed below.

Primary Location

Boston, Massachusetts

Salary range is expected to be between

$111,900.00 USD - $201,420.00 USD

The actual salary will vary depending on local market conditions, geography and relevant job-related factors such as knowledge, skills, qualifications, experience, and education/training.
