The Distribution Insights Analyst and Developer will collaborate with the Director of Advisor Service Delivery and play a critical role in supporting the Group Benefits Distribution organization. Collaborating with Director, the incumbent must lead the analysis, creation, development and support of high quality, cost-effective solutions for Group Benefits Distribution teams. Responsibilities include improving processes and developing user-friendly reporting and tools. This individual will be instrumental in developing and managing reporting solutions using Microsoft Power BI, focusing on building, and maintaining dashboards, and reporting to facilitate meaningful and productive conversations with external partners. The role will involve using supportive facts and details to enhance decision-making and drive organizational success. The successful candidate will possess strong analytical skills, technical proficiency, a commitment to delivering excellent service, and delivering on key pivotal initiatives.

Key Accountabilities Include:

  • Construct and maintain platforms and dashboards with key performance items, incorporating business knowledge to aid impactful decision making.
  • Work closely with partners to identify business needs and convert them into practical requirements designing data models and implement solutions that meet their needs.
  • Partner with other business and IT teams to mine data sources, analyzing the information and using it to build dashboards, and propose data driven recommendations.
  • Develop interactive and visually compelling reports and dashboards used internally and externally for business partner meetings using Power BI, ensuring data accuracy, reliability, and performance.
  • Educate and train staff and senior leaders, creating self-serve environments when possible.
  • Provide User Acceptance Testing (UAT) and Steady State support.
  • Proactively look for opportunities to reengineering tasks to improve efficiency and automation, reduce duplication, and minimize errors.
  • Conduct thorough analysis of existing internal data and market trends to lead projects to mitigate risks and capitalize opportunities quickly.
  • Use analytical tools and techniques to drive actionable strategic priorities, including the planning, execution, and measuring of success.
  • Optimize and maintain existing Power BI solutions.
  • Knowledge of Power BI security standard methodologies, including role-based access control and role-level security.
  • Stay ahead of with industry trends and advancements in Power BI and related technologies, continuously improving our reporting capabilities.
  • Experience and business knowledge of Group Benefits, including sales & service roles, and working directly with external advisors.

Job Requirements (Knowledge/Skills/Competencies):

  • A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Business Administration, or equivalent experience.
  • 3+ years Data Analysis / Development experience
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to gather and interpret data.
  • Ability to influence decision-makers at all levels
  • Capacity to think critically, analyze quantitative and qualitative data, and make recommendations to help set strategic priorities and grow the business.
  • Demonstrated technical proficiency (i.e., use of software tools, coding experience, Excel, etc.)
  • Proficiency in data wrangling, preprocessing, and visualization, with expertise in programming languages such as Python, R, and SQL, and a solid understanding of agile solution development principles.
  • Extensive experience with data visualization tools.
  • Build effective relationships and establish a prominent level of credibility with team and partners.
  • Create an environment of continuous improvement.
  • Ability to work under deadlines, managing multiple projects and competing priorities.
  • Strong organizational, communication, and time management skills
  • Proficient experience in presentation skills, negotiating commitments, turnaround times, etc.
  • Experience and business knowledge of Group Benefits, including products, sales & service roles, and working directly with external advisors.
  • Knowledge of the company's business operations, systems and technology is an asset.

Salary range is expected to be between

$67,275.00 CAD - $112,125.00 CAD
